Is the Digital Gauge Cluster worth it?

My 18 didn't have it, and after seeing a car with it, I sucked it up and ordered the kit from Hellhorse. It's too cool to not do it.

Has anyone had issues with ambient lighting?

Mine wont turn on with the light, but if i go uncheck and recheck the box it comes on until I shut the car off. Just an odd issue.

I thought I really wanted it, but have seen lots of examples in pictures where the gauges get "washed out" from sun glare from certain angles. Maybe somebody that has them can comment.

A bit of a late reply but I just took the plastic cover off mine. The part is called a mask and runs about $20. I ordered an extra one and took a hammer to the clear plastic panel.

I would not want to put that stupid thing back on. It serves no purposes other than giving it a classic look and adding glare.

I like mine so far been about a month. I added it to my 2017 GT. Can you explain or maybe post some pics of what you are talking about?

Mine came with the digital IC. I just busted out that piece of clear plastic that covers the screen.

Really? The instrument cluster mask can be ordered separately from cluster itself?
Do you have Ford OEM part number (order number) for the mask?
Is it hard to exchanged existing mask (mine is scratched) with the new one?
The scratch producing terrible glare.
