BTW: I was never able to get the two piece part of this kit to fit on my GT350. That section of the rubber bushing must have a different shape.
I have the same part for my GT500. Haven't tried to install yet to see if I will have the same issue.

Well slap my ass and call me Susan, you were correct. I have never owned a Shelby, let alone worked one, but I am surprised there is a difference in that one bushing between all non Shelby vs Shelby models. I was able to install everything BUT the two pice insert that goes in the bottom of the rear bushing.

Well I am almost a midget, does that count? But yes, I have had a productive couple days, and it looks like you have as well! I need to come visit you to learn how to weld. Wicked nice job

While in the trades, I went to welding school and was certified in arc for some time. Today that is the old school way. I bought a mig 25 years ago and never looked back - this is the method I'd recommend to a beginner that wants to start fast and get going on a given project. Ten years ago I bought a tig setup, much cleaner and quieter than any another other way of fusing steel or aluminum. Tig is really time consuming though and can be difficult to do out of position. Regardless, there are some great machines out there for relatively low cost that allow you to be up and running in no time.

I have Craftsman (probably made by Lincoln) wire fed, with argon welder that was my dads. When he died 10 years ago I acquired it before his no good wife (not my mother) pawned it for pennies on the dollar. Unfortunately there never seemed to be enough time to have him teach me how to use it. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Ok, I will get lots of flack for some of these ideas and photos but WTH, I like messing around with my cars. I always keep the OEM parts in case I want to reuse them or sell the car and the next person wants to take it back to the original look.

In another thread I explained and posted photos of the car after installing the CFTP front springs and rear sway bar. Dropped it 1/2" which is what I wanted. Took the Recaro's down to the upholstery shop and had seat heaters installed then I wired up the switches between the USB and 12 volt outlet. Completely tore the car apart and sound deadened roof, doors, cargo area and doors with Dynamat and Dynaliner. Installed the front splitter, Ford oil separator, Lethal resonator X-pipe delete, fixed the heater hose issue, added front rokblokz and a JLT overflow reservoir cover. I changed all the lighting inside that was incandescent to LED's, replaced the OEM dash panel with one I had covered in Alcantara (full Alcantara console coming soon), replaced the vinyl door inserts with GT350 Alcantara inserts and added Lloyd's custom mats with the Shelby logo. Wired up battery for CTEK charger. I had the windows tinted 5% on the rear window, 50% on the sides and windshield. I have a set of Signature Series SV902 wheels down having the tires installed this coming week and should have them on the car by the end of the week.

Now, I have been playing around with the exterior lighting on the car. I installed Diode Dynamics smoked rear side marker LED's and tinted with film, the rear reflectors and reverse light because I cannot find either of those two items in the style I like that are smoked. When I do, I will replace them as I don't like tinting exterior lighting. I bought two different style rear tail lights. One from Raxion which looks modern/classy and the other is the European OEM mustang taillights but lightly smoked. I really dislike huge red tail lamp assemblies. On the front I replaced the headlamps and turn signals with Morimoto Full LED lighting. They are very very nice and give a much meaner look to the front end because there is no chrome in the headlight housings. Also toying with the idea of adding SHELBY lettering across the back of the trunk lid as you will see in some photos. Right now I don't have the lettering on as it might be too crowded for me with the spoiler so low on the lid. And yes, I have major OCD as some others have pointed out. About the audio system, that will come much later. I generally rework the entire system including replacing the Sync system but in this car, not sure that will happen. I want to live with it for awhile to figure out what I want to do.

I want to change up the look of this car a bit. The most noticeable would be the headlights and taillights. Every Mustang since 2015 have the same basic lights (I know there were slight changes) and in the early days, some Shelby's had different front and rear lights and I want to go that route and see if I like it. I can always change back. I really feel Ford could have done just a little bet more with the design of the interior and exterior of this car for being the pinnacle Mustang and the price. Just a few photos below of some of what I've been doing.

I'm so envious as I well remember having your kind of motivation but it has long since departed the pattern. :-)

Thanks for all the compliments guys. Motivation? It's my first new Mustang in 41 years. As with all new cars/trucks I buy (all Ford) I order them so it gives me time to purchase all the parts and things to mod them pretty much right away when they arrive. I haven't had this one for two weeks yet and yes I have been busy but not overly so. Enjoying every minute of it.

I really like the way everything has turned out so far but I am still having issues deciding on which of the two taillights I like. I like them both for different reasons. Anyone care to comment on them? I don't want to hear "I'd stick with the red OEM ones" because that ain't gonna happen.

That is so cool. I have two Great Danes and spend every moment I have with them unless I'm not at home. Dogs really are a man's best friend.
