Risk vs. reward. You sound really leery of bringing the car to Colorado. If that is the case leave it. If something, anything were to happen to the car you will be kicking yourself for forever. Maybe you can rent a Mustang in Colorado?

Avis does mustangs. Looking like base $109 a day maybe more for a GT if they have one. More than worth the cost for a nice driving weekend! @Bikeman315 Thank you!!!

I'd probably keep it at home safe in the garage and drive it on my visits to the homestead. I would worry about hail and other damage (UV, vandalism, etc.) as well while sitting outside in a parking lot in Colorado. My Mustang is parked in a garage both at home and at work (parking garage downtown), so it doesn't get a lot of exposure, thank goodness. Not to mention, being shaded in a parking garage keeps it much more comfortable on my drive home at the end of the day during the summer.

Another option could be to sell it and buy a low mileage GT similar to yours a year from now.

It comes down to what the car means to you. A previous poster said it's not a collector car. That point is subjective to the individual.

Mine is not a collector car, but a toy that I have aspired for and worked hard to acquire. So to me it is not easily replaced. To others they are a daily drivers to be replaced every few years.

It comes down to you. If it's something you value, enjoy it responsibly to maximize how long you can keep it the way you intended.

If it's your daily that you are prepared to replace then take it and have fun.

To me, my car is like a hybrid of what you posted. Worked hard for and not easily replaced fun car that is daily driven at least for the next few years. I usually put a bout 10k or less miles on a car per year and after the stang is paid off, the wife gets a new car (likely Honda) and I'll be commuting in her now Honda at least till the thought of driving the thing makes me want to peel my face off instead. Then safe the stang for weekends and really nice days.

Already decided on not taking it now though. Will actually be cost and sanity effective to just rent a mustang for a weekend when I feel the need.

Day 2 in Fort Carson and all I see (and hear) are Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers.... The muscle scene got strong here since last year.
