The painted install was my work, removing the chrome trim doesn't make sense because of what's involved with the swap.
Painting takes a little more effort but yields far better results in the end.
Keep looking eventually a set comes up, just need to be quick to get them.
Good luck.
The trim you are asking about is a carry over from the 2015 models, the fit and finish will work out, if your painting thechrome trim to match the car, it is best to put in the effort and not try to remove the trim from glass and paint in place. It takes patience to mask sand, mask sand, mask...
From a guy who specializes in custom builds. The damage to you car looks way worse than it really is. Getting a factory undaged fender and door is relatively cheap, the quarter panel replacement is very straight forward, the car is virtually new so a good color match is also easy for a good...
This isn't just about my experiences. Has anyone bought a modded car and been disappointed, or overly satisfied, or sold their car and regretted the whole process?
Here is one I built for myself 15 years ago that I owned for over twenty years. It was a money pit, but for my time of ownership it averaged out pretty fair.
So in a strange way I can justify the build cost because I derived my monies worth of enjoyment.
Why though, do people by a new car...
Your spot on, I could've had a Porsche, but I do get a great deal of satisfaction out of out performing them on the streets with a car they wouldn't consider a challenge. That's my hobbyists approach to a senseless pursuit.
Wow, that was pretty detailed, were you yelling at the keyboard as you typed your response?
I don't need justification for my actions, I intend on spending close to another $100,000 overtime, my next round includes carbon ceramic rotors and pads with carbon rims to go with them, thats another...
I understand the loss on modifications. I'm looking for logic. I way over spend on my personal builds, but I don't build for resale, I will get my money's worth over a long period of time For the money I put in i could be in the AMG, M, or GT2 market and not need to do any work.
Most people...
They are GT350 brake kit and thanks.
It's a given, it's worth what someone would pay. Lets say its a 10,000 mile 15 GT Mustang with $20,000 in upgrades.
There's no right or wrong answer. What would a car like that be worth.
There are a lot of us out there that can build a pretty nice Mustang. These projects can become very pricey in the process. Knowing these build costs, eventually these car end up being sold after being meticulously maintained.
What i am noticing, is that there are those who want what we have...
There are a lot of people who want things free. Here is a bone stock 15 Mustang with 21000 miles for $33,000 and thats not an uncommon price point either. Pay the man what the car is worth or build one for $35,000 all in and document the project the rest of us can emulate it. We should be...
I not sure if the problem persisted past 2016 model year cars. From what I learned the design flaw was addressed in 2017.
As for brands, most parts are generic on Ebay, except the A/C evaporator core, that is sold directly by Ford on Ebay.
If you are doing the compressor due to bearing failure you should consider replacing the condenser as well because of contamination.
All the parts total ran about $700.00 that includes the following mostly on Ebay.
Evaporator Core
Condenser
Compressor
Drier Filter
Expansion Valve
Blend Door...
There are two groups of Mustang owners out there. One group bought there cars and use them as daily drivers, the others got them as weekend toys. The majority were daily drivers and as such were covered by warranty. The number of us affected out of warranty is still pretty large, but not...
