I suspect a lot of people choose Roush for the warranty. It seems that most people with the Roush do not race at the track or strip so heatsoak is not a big drawback for them.
When I was new to Ford last year I looked at Roush first for warranty and because I recognized the name!!!!
I would think heat soak is a bigger issue in everyday scenarios than track...and track you can pop your hood and let it cool down....strategically get it to the line ect....
I wonder if a killer chiller could be integrated on phase 2 then removed if a major warranty claim was needed?

Killer chiller isn’t needed in my area, Atco’s in the 30-65 range from Oct-April.

I have not heard any Roush owners complain about heat soak on the street. It is sitting without the pump and fans running or back to back runs at the strip that causes the heatsoak.

For track use, if necessary, an ice tank would be a much simpler solution than a killer chiller. Even running it without ice adds a lot of coolant capacity and makes a lot of difference according to Lethal.

Yea I can see it being simple and putting the weight where it needs to be with an ice tank...
But completely disagree on where and how its needed it will absolutely heat soak in stop and go traffic or back to back roll races....and once they do heat soak it takes forever to cool down.....whipple and Edelbrock or VMP which are all better than the Roush at cooling.....
Its nothing for a whipple owner to see 170 IAT at a light, Al picked up 50hp on the same whipple tune with the killer chiller and has had no problems for about a year now. He lives opposite of ATCO where it's hot and humid all of the time and got it to cool his, at the time stage 1 whipple down ON THE STREET...
In fact he hadn't raced it till literally just the last month or so and is an older gentleman...whom didnt place emphasis on getting more power but it just not pulling what he had due to timing vs IAT curves...worked swimmingly for him ( and RedEye/Demons)...

Water tank would be fine too, not as good for sure but a good middle of the road......

Instead of personal attacks I'd appreciate rationalizing with physics why you think a system with its intercooler setting on top of the engine running 220 degrees in traffic sucking 105 degree ambient air wouldn't run temps up and benefit from 40 degree intercooler water in 105 degree plus the heat for the road and cars around you air? Same as nascar drafting heats up their engines not just including the air entry but sucking up hot spent air....making at times the car in the front cooler even though it has to push thru more air

I knew that would get your attention
I was just busting your chops

Al’s big bad whipple heat soaked before the Killer Chiller, so bad that in traffic it hurt a piston.

Fl is VERY humid vs Pa.

Would the Roush heat soak in the summertime in Pa. driving around, yes it will, how bad, well guys aren’t reporting it to be that bad?

Common sense sez the Roush intercooler isn’t as efficient as the top mount but like u, I believe a cool down at the track and there fine, plus u could add a ice tank to help if need be (Racing)

Al’s running his car mixing boostane and 93, he’s around 100 octane according to him, he has no warranty

I love Al’s channel but some us dont wanna spend 7k for a short block, 2k for a killer chiller, 700 for a tune and the labor $$$$$$$ to make it run 10.00

Other than Whipple the only other 10 Sec canned tuned 18+ is a Roush and a few of us are happy with that, we don’t need or want to spend 20k + to go faster

I'd wire the pumps and fans to run to cool down if I didnt have time between rounds to let it cool on its own.....maybe even automate it with thermisters

I'm right there with you I was on the same train of thought from Logan at Lethal in fact...7.5 gallon half moon spare tire mounted tank....was for plan...

However Coyote Car Guy has had SUCH good results with the killer chiller and both of them running in the $750 range its really gave me pause....if by the time I get ready to do it he still isnt having leaks or problems I have to heavily consider it....

But I do like the weight right were we need it and going fron 6oz of resevoir to 7.5 gallons haha

According Al now he needs a bigger tank and I believe he’s gonna need the HE put back in the car, his tuner was telling him that in the video.

There’s new software in the P2 tune that allow u to run the fans for a brief time.

I believe it’s been discussed?

He doesnt "need" it he ran 10.08 but it would work even better it was only like 85 IAT ( 5-7 degrees over ambient he hot lapped it all the time stage 1) end of 1/4. I did have my cousin order a 1 gallon resevoir with his killer chiller though....cant wait to see both their results with a resevoir...

1 gallon is what Mr Kincaid told my cousin he would like to see on his over driven LSA blower...im not sure what Al needs but if his is like mike the resevoir is tiny...I'd say mine couldnt be more than 6oz, I suppose with Edelbrocks 3 pass system that's all they thought they needed?

I am drawn to the rear tank too for the weight...right where I cant imagine a better place to put it, and still full use of tank!!!!
