Happy New Year dear friends. I really need advice on cheaper option for me to enhance the look of my car. I'm one of those people who rarely modify my cars, however I do regret not buying the PP1 or premium because I do not like the base model small rims and the wheel well gap is so obvious. I love the ride of base model. It is a perfect blend of handling and comfort.

I don't want to use wheel spacers because I am really paranoid about them failing.

I want to have wider look and get rid of some of the wheel well space but don't want to lower my car. What do you guys suggest. Should I get bigger tires for base rims or get a new wheel and tire setup that has offset to give a wider look. I feel like the car kinda looks funny with base wheel and tires.

The stock 19" rims fill the gaps nicely. Not sure if 20" would be any better.

The good news is you have a ton of wheel options, many that are reasonably priced, but still excellent quality. You'll probably want to spelunk around in the wheels sub-forum.

You're not going to want to go much wider on the stock wheels, and the little bit you could increase the width, won't make much difference. If you like the OEM Perf Pack wheels, you can usually score a killer deal on a lightly used set, they show up with some frequency in the for sale area. There are some fantastic 20" options, that let you run a really wide tire, but retain a nice OEM-ish fitment, MRR make several styles, in 18/19/20, with an 11" rear option, you can properly fit a 305 which is a pretty wide tire, then it's the wheel diameter / tire profile that impacts that fender gap you mentioned.

Here's my car on 20x10, 20x11, running a 285/35, 305/35 tire setup, the slightly taller 35 series fills the fender nicely, and I'm running a totally stock suspension (it's a Perf Pack car with Magride).

Here’s a set of my CDC Outlaw wheels on my car. The car is stock ride height and I think they do a good job filling out the wheel well. I could likely go bigger so maybe the next time I need tires I’ll go slightly larger.

They are 255/35 in the front and 285/35 in the rear.

I like these. Where did you buy these?
Those 19" wheels came on the car when it was new. It was part of the Pony Package to match the chrome trim around the side windows.

There are oodles of 9 or 9.5 wide rims that can be used as-is. figure $150-200 each. Tires can be had for 200-250 a corner. American Muscle etc offer quite the selection of 8.5" wide rims but I don't think that's a worthwhile improvement.

Aftermarket wheels with lower offsets will push the wheel further outside. These are 19 x 9.5 with +33 offset. My tires are 275/40r19s, a little taller than base. The car is on BMR minimum drop springs, only 1/2 inch lower than stock.

Man this looks beautiful. Where did you get these from and how much was the cost of rims and tires combined.

Nice!!! I have minimum drop springs sitting in the house because u didn't know if they would fit for sure. Guess I can throw em on now.

Why were you unsure if they would fit? Many use springs with more drop than these with no issues.

I felt like they would lower the car enough to rub. Did the springs make a difference in the feel of the car?

I installed the springs at the same time as new PP1 struts and shocks. The ride became a little stiffer at low speeds over sharp bumps. However, the ride became more stable and less bouncy at higher speeds. Handling improved noticeably. I'm not sure how much of the change came from the springs vs. the dampers.
