Finally had time to do the cluster install. Really awesome!! HUGE thanks to @breeves002 for orchestrating everything from purchase to delivery (excellent packaging!) and full programming of the cluster to ensure total plug an play install on my RHD!! :like:

You likely need the 2019+ APIM in order to get turns showing on the digital gauge cluster.
Not sure if this has been mentioned on this forum somewhere else, but I managed to get Google Maps turns showing on my cluster. I have a RHD 2017 Non-Nav APIM. I upgraded to Sync 3.4 following the procedure from https://cyanlabs.net/tutorials/update-ford-sync-3-2-2-3-0-to-version-3-4-all-years-3-4-19200/

I wont be able to advice or give any support if something goes wrong or does not work for you (and sure Ford wont support this...) - but for me it was a straight forward update and everything worked 1st time.

Upgraded From 3.0 to 3.4

When I set a destination on my Google Maps - it shows turns on the cluster.

If you don't mind a few questions about the update ?
1-Did you upgrade to 19101 first or straight to 1927.
2-Are the files for the 2nd USB the same for 19101 and 19274?
3- Is it just the difference in the files for the 1st usb?

Just FYI that update can brick some first gen non-nav units so I don't recommend trying it on any 2016 cars. Some 2017 may be affected too. I don't know which part numbers it is.

Also if you have nav and do the update you are technically stealing map files they sell so it is illegal. Just FYI.

If that happened, how much would a replacement unit cost and could it be a later version that wouldn't need any hack?

Yes, they're around $200 programmed on eBay for the older ones. I have a bunch of newer 2019/2020 model year non-nav ones that have software 3.3 or 3.4 already installed I would sell for the same $200 price programmed. Brand new too.

I'm a bit iffy to give guidance on this as there are real risks as @breeves002 highlighted in his post, and from what I've read on some forums. And again - I wont be able to help if anything goes wrong as I have no clue as to what is technically happening... But I'm happy to share what I did.
1. First did the 19101 update then when all was up and running, updated to 19274
2. So to get to the 19101 update you have the 2 USB procedure - files are obviously different for each USB
3. To get to 19274 only one USB is required with the files contained in the 2nd optional download. So the 1st USB is really just for the initial upgrade to 19101. Once 19101 was installed, I inserted the USB disk with the 2nd set of files and the system started the updated after a few seconds.

Again - my car is a 2017 RHD and came with the Sync3 APIM - No Nav. So my update did not involve any maps etc - which by reading through some forums I now see may introduce a few complications. Also - some people are saying they are experiencing issues with DAB (station logos not showing etc). DAB is available on my unit - but here in South Africa there is maybe like 2 DAB stations - so was not a show stopper for me.

You can go direct to 19274 but FYI you will not ever be able to do the 2 usb procedure again. For non-nav owners it shouldn't matter. Nav owners that want to steal new maps in the future should stay on 19101 lol.

Just finished updating to 19101, anyone know of the changes between 19101 and 19274? Any additional feature/cosmetic changes or is it bug fixes?

In case anyone is wondering the turn by turn guidance in the dash cluster for Waze and Google maps is part of the 19101 update.

I have a 2016 Mustang GT Premium US model, and are looking into doing this change. But I am moving to Europe next year, and wonder if I will be able to switch to km instead of mi for the odometer that I can on my cluster today. And if I will be able to switch between MPH and KM/H for the speedo.
Can anyone confirm, and if possible send some picture when switching between the settings?

Thanks.
Marcus

You can't switch to KMs without reprogramming the entire cluster which can't be done with FORScan. You can only enable KPH to show as a second digital display.
