Ooooff. Listen bikeman, to say someone is too young to get it is such a ridiculous dig. You know what's funny? The older I get the less I care about material stuff. And you know what? I love my mustang but it's just another material possession. If you're as old and wise as you claim to be I'd hope you've found happiness elsewhere. At least to the point of major blue Chip companies not being able to play with your emotions because of a brand.Don, that’s OK. Honestly you really are too young to “get” it. Mustang is more than a name, it is a culture.
I hope that there is something in your future that you fall in love with and never want to change. Then it does. At that point you will “get” it.
Save 55 years of Mustang Heritage.
The Mach-E looks to be a great product! BUT naming any SUV a Mustang is wrong.
“Putting the name Mustang on an all-wheel-drive, four-door crossover is insulting to the Mustang clubs and Mustang enthusiasts who’ve supported this product for more than five decades. I’m imploring Ford to hear our voices and respect Mustang heritage and not bastardize it this way.”

I once owned exactly this car, this color. Mine was a 77 but as far as I can tell they never changed anything about this version, not even the wheel covers.*I have your Muscle car right here LOL

The Mustang II was great in my opinion FOR THE TIME. Very small car with a V8 engine squeezed in there. It definitely fits the Mustang legacy a lot better than an SUV with 4 doors.I have your Muscle car right here LOL

Sorry, I did not mean it as a dig. I just look around me and see that the younger generation doesn't put as much stock in "things" as past generations have. Collecting for instance. Stamps, coins, porcelain figures, etc. Where as once these were things many people did, today they are dying. Now yes, I claim to be old, but I'm not so sure about that wise part. I have found happiness in many other things, primarily family.Ooooff. Listen bikeman, to say someone is too young to get it is such a ridiculous dig. You know what's funny? Sorry but let's put into focus how little any of this matters. Also you could make the argument that the machE stands to reinvigorate the mustang fanbase and bring in new buyers to both the coupe and suv.

Well hey man thanks for such a positive response. Sorry if I came off overly aggressive. I do feel you're right about younger generations and the lack of collecting. I suppose these things are cyclical. A couple generations collect a couple other live minimalist and the cycle keeps on turning.Sorry, I did not mean it as a dig. I actually am in total agreement with your last sentence. That's why I though we should kill the other thread. I think the Mach-E is actually going to save our Mustang for the foreseeable future. There are many others that do not see this, at least yet. Time, as always, will tell.
Oh, and enjoy your youth to the fullest. I doesn't last as long as you think it will.![]()
If they discontinued our mustang then I wouldn’t be happy. I don’t mind sharing name plates but if we lost our 2 door I’d be ultimately disappointed.Don, that’s OK. Honestly you really are too young to “get” it. Mustang is more than a name, it is a culture.

Because it’s only 3.3% of overall sales. Hardly a cash cow. It also doesn’t really share anything with any other Ford vehicles which is critical to profits. Why would ford ever discontinue its $$$ sportiest coupe ever made? It’s been a cash cow
