And I've made a decision, I'm not going to do anything to the car. Bone-stock. As soon as she arrives, the 4.6 & 6r60 are coming out of the Mounty. She will be my sleeper drag car. The question remains: blown Coyote & 6R80, or a Clevo & AOD? :)

And don't let any soaped up women slide on your hood. You can get away with that with old cars but these new Mustangs will be dented to hell and back

A lot of people rave about the 10 speed, especially if you’re looking to drag it.

Word of caution, don’t throw a 150 shot on the car and let it rip. You need to tune the car specifically for nitrous. 150 shot on a stock tune is asking for a disaster no warranty claim will cover for you. Nitrous is also the hardest power adder on all your drivetrain. I’ve ran it in the past (previous Mustang) and it is hard on the clutch/trans and it’s not especially difficult to pop a motor if you are not extremely methodical in learning how to use nitrous (assuming you’re a first time sprayer), properly installing and tuning for the kit.
Yep. I had a 150 shot. Fucken. Hated. It. Thankfully nothing got hurt. Miss a shift and say goodbye to your engine. Sold it to a guy with a s197. He asked for advice, all I said was good luck. As far with picking up the car at Flat Rock.. money talks.

I would understand "labor the engine" as opening the throttle too much for a given speed in a given gear. Shift down to go up a steep hill.. Keep the revs up.
This, "Laboring the Engine" means hauling a trailer that weighs 3 times more than the car for 1000 miles at 2000 RPM more than 10th gear at 80 mph.

“Good luck”... hahaha.

I was extremely fortunate with my old GT as well. Engine/trans never gave me an issue. The nitrous claimed a clutch and the rear end though. Every time I let it rip, I felt like it was going to be the last time. But damn it was a fun 10-15 seconds.. bottle after bottle.

I made it through the first page. I'm seriously not trying to be rude...stay away from NOS. I'm not saying it's bad...but YOU need to stay away from it. Words of Wisdom

Maseratis are actually trash cars with wonderful sounding engines, that’s it. Cheap materials, especially considering the price too

.... I would think your suggestion of redlining and open throttling would go against this. May I enquire as to why you would suggest what you do?.....
Modern manufacture engines need heat and pressure to properly break-in. The break-in procedures in automotive manuals hasn't changed since aught-eight, and steam power.

We have had plenty of new members here complaining their cars were burning oil. Virtually every one of those new members had dutifully followed the break-in procedures, and they ended up with engines that drank oil.

Drive the car like you would if it had 10K miles on it. Drive it hard and fast, let the heat and pressure build up while accelerating from a light, and then back off. If you're driving it on the freeway in the first miles, drop it down several gears and floor it, then back off. Don't just sit at 1750 RPM and cruise, vary the load and RPMs. Do not be afraid to red-line the motor, and then back off. Don't be afraid to max-throttle the engine, and then back off.
