I think you can get the Roush with a warranty. Don't know exactly what it covers.
If you do it we'd love to hear your analysis.
It's a 3 year, 36,000 mile powertrain warranty *provided* a Roush authorized Ford dealer does the installation. Luckily, the nearest Ford dealer to me (83 miles) is a Roush dealer. My biggest concern isn't the motor, but if the MT-82 will hold up with 200 ft-lb more torque. I'm wondering if the "buy once, cry once" mantra holds true and would be smart to swap out the MT-82 for a Tremec from the GT-350 along with the huffer.

This is beginning to get out of control, I'm falling back into my lnto pattern of f@#^king-up a perfectly good car by making it "better". I'm NOT touching the Magnaride suspension or ride height though - it's almost too low for our winters already.

Everything I've seen is that short of the 2nd gear shift fork, if you're a pre-2019, you're good to go.

I don't know about the shift forks being an issue on these cars. Remember the "cylinder 8" problems and the fixes? Then the oil pump gears? I have a hard time believing the transmission has issues. All I can say for sure is that my 2011 with the "crappy" mt-82 transmissions went to the dragstrip several times with dozens and dozens of 1/4 mile runs with no issues. 600rwhp. Drag radials. Of course I didn't side step the clutch, either. I've seen the videos. Blah, blah.

I do agree with not messing with the exterior or suspension. I know exactly how you feel.

The shift forks are like the most known issue with the MT-82. People have even broken them while making YT videos talking about the problem. Gears are not really an issue unless you are revving out past 7500RPM.

Don't worry about the shift forks.

Hey TJ, question for you.. Theres a Steeda.ca in Milton Ontario. I talked to someone there (who was less than interested to help) and he had no clue about the Bullitt tune; He tried to tell me the tuner they have comes with a tune for the car.... When I said the bullitt had a specific tune through Steeda he said that they dont get the US tunes.... not sure I get that. truthfully speaking that phone call was enough for me to likely not call them again. Could have just been a bad employee answering the phone but definitely not a good representation for the Steeda brand.
I’m near Toronto so 4 hours +/- from Detroit so probably further than Im willing to go.
If I buy a SCT X4 locally can I still got the bullitt tune through you? Will it work with the BDX as well? Which is better? thx
Keep us posted :)
I also had issues with these guys when buying my Steeda Red cone filter....he had no idea they also cam in Red but did not even say..”I’ll check for you” !! Bought it thru Matt at Steeda and delivered to my US address!! Saved $40 bucks doing it that way!!

Never liked the sound Vortech/ProCharged cars make. Sounds like a jet engine which would REALLY annoy me in daily driving.
I have a Whippled '03 cobra and have put 13 years and 80,000 miles on it without a hiccup. if I were to put a blower on, it would be a whipple!

Ive gone back and forth on buying the tune from Steeda. The car runs so well in stock trim Im constantly struggling with "do I really need it?"..... Buy the time I ship to Canada and pay the exchange and taxes I'll be right around $1000 for it.

The question I have is if the exhaust crackle and pop between gears is noticeably any different with the tune installed? Its one of the many things I love about the car and dumb as it may sound its a factor for me in buying this lol.
It sounds the exact same to me. Seems I get a bit more squirrely in 1st gear when turning but I honestly can't tell that big of a difference. I can't hear any noise difference. I like the car more with the tune but for 600.... not sure if I'd do it again.

It cost you $600. Holy s@*t. No email tune should cost that. Have you had it on the dyno since putting in. I have had bad experience with email tunes. Best to be in a shop with a reputable tuner.

Well that much for the tuner and the tune, so only 200 but I had to buy the tuner to do it.

Email tunes are a lot different now vs for your Cobra. With built-in wideband and other sensors its a lot easier for mail tunes to not only be much more accurate, but also logging to tweak it remotely. It's still not the best way to get every bit of power, but it can easily get you 90% of the way there and still have a nice safe margin. For most people with either stock engine or basic bolt-on's that will easily fit their needs. If the Tuner is really good a dyno tune will do nothing more than just add some refinement vs a mail tune + a couple of logs.

That sounds more like it. You Didn’t say it include the X4. I’m assuming that’s the tuner you got?

I just feel better data logging while on the rollers. It does help when your best friends have dyno’s and worked for SCT.........lol. Also when The dyno is next door.

Rolling on a dyno doesn't replicate actual air flow while on the road for proper idle and A/F tweaks. Great example is with Ram Air/Shaker cars. Their air flow at higher speeds is a lot different than just sitting on a dyno in stationary air.
