Long story short, guy I picked up the T56 from broke two diff bolts during a pull, causing his driveshaft to rub.

It’s a DSS 4”. I used to have a DSS 4” for the mt82 and got lucky since I had no vibration. Now this one violently starts vibrating at 85+ mph.

Should I try and get it rebalanced? Scrap it and buy a new one?

I’m not even sure if the damage is what’s causing the vibration or if I’m just experiencing what a ton of people go through already.

Try rotating it 180 degrees and see if the vibration goes away, that's usually what they recommend to fix it. If that doesn't work I would get it rebalanced. Rebalancing should fix it and usually isnt too expensive.

I wouldn't trust that DS on the track. Driving is on the street wouldn't bug me if there wasn't any vibration.

I haven't known anyone that track uses their cars that would run a damaged DS. That's too much money and safety to risk. Those score marks are really deep. On the street, you're not applying full Tq from stop light to stoplight so the likelihood of it failing would be less. (Not none, but less) I'm also assuming you're not staging and racing every time your drive it.

A drive shaft shop can fix that for ya.
