Hi,
I'm looking at putting 20" wheels on my 2019 Bullitt, but have a potential issue I wanted to see if anyone could shed light on or had come across.
The rules as I understand them are that you can't go down from the original tyre load index. The standard GT seems to be rated at 101, but the Bullitt has 105 rated tyres on the back (275/40R19 105Y), which rules out the 305/30R20 Michelin 4S, and most other tyres that size, as they are 103 rated. There's a 295/35R20, but that partly negates the point of spending 5 grand for bigger and wider wheels and tyres.
Does anyone know if it's model specific, or if the GT has a lower rating can I go with that?
I'm going to talk to tyre shops on Monday and will try Mustang Motorsport to see what they've done with the Bullitts they've changed wheels on, and will update the thread, but if anyone has any insights in the meantime that would be a helpful start.
Cheers,
Matt
