So I have another post and it explains everything about my motor being blown. It's in the process of being tore down in the next week and hopefully it can be rebuilt, if not I'm going with a pre-built motor from a reputable source.
Question for you guys out there. First off, I have the Paxton and 3.33 pulley and plan on staying with that for at least another year or more or until It breaks and then I POSSIBLY might go twin turbo. What compression ratio overall would be the best? 9 to 1 or 11.5 to 1. From what I understand on reading, 9 to 1 will give me more power with just 93 octane instead of having to run e85 all the time and I can throw more boost at the Paxton. 11.5 to 1 will give me more motor power and more prone to detonation on 93, but I can run less boost and get good power.
Which one should I go for with a Paxton? I'm not trying to over spin the blower obviously and I'm tired of having to carry around 5-gallon jugs just to drive my car. It's okay every now and then, but it gets old after doing it for so long and having to drive 20 minutes to get it.
I will be going with the 8th rib and the ATI balancer and long tube headers when we are putting my motor back in. Help me please guys. It would be appreciated for advice and suggestions.

Yea but with the 3.33 pulley the paxton is about maxed out.If your shifting at 7500 rpm i think u are overspinning it.I would go with the 11.5 compression because if u stay with the paxton u dont have overspin it anymore then what it is now.

I don't get why the Paxton says on the website it can handle 27 PSI if you can't even put the thing past 15 psi without over spinning the blower too much.

Does it say the 2200 sl,websites can be vey decieving.I know the 2200 wont make 27 psi of boost.

Max PSI is just that max pressure rating. 100% depends on the engine it’s on. 665” big block it wouldn’t make 8 lbs at max rpm, 3.0L V6 it might make 30 lbs at max rpm. It doesn’t mean it should make 27 on a 5.0. Or if you spun it to max rpm at something ridiculous at like 4,500 rpm it would make mega boost because the engine isn’t consuming as much volume.


People get hung up on boost #’s. Boost reading is the excess air the motor isn’t consuming. CFM tells you much more, but there’s no practical way to measure it without converting maf lb/hr into cfm. Especially since our maf meters max out pretty easyboosted.

So if I went with a lower compression motor on this build ex. 10:1 or 9.25:1, can I push more PSI out of the same exact Paxton than I was doing with the 11.1 ratio motor? Without overspinning?
As I was talking about in the main post, I'm trying to make it to where I can push 700 or maybe even 750 safely with 93 instead of having to drive 25 minutes away and fill up 5-gallon gas cans all the time with e85.

So I ordered the rods and pistons for my new motor. 10 to 1 compression ratio 10 over bore. I'm having the machine shop bore and hone everything and install the water jacket supports. if I went to 10 over, would that make my motor stronger? My buddy was saying something like I would have a 5.2 motor now.

Technically it is slightly larger displacement, but nowhere near 5.2L... Do some math stuff and you can figure out exact displacement. and it's not 10 over anymore, which used to mean .010" larger bore. now it's metric LOL. But most of the aftermarket manufacturers list as SAE dimensions, even tho from Ford it's metric.
