Hotness.

And a 'real' Shelby, just like the old ones, down to the CSM number and a permanent spot in the registry.

A 1 of 1 last surviving 67 super snake? Really? a comparison?

Lets see..... in '17 Shelby American offered 500 slots for super snakes. Who knows how many they made in 15, 16, 18, or how many they will make in 19. A lead I posted here asked $104K (that was a 4K ADM over cost). Not a single nibble except a bunch of tire kickers and complainers about the price. That is some real demand there.

Those cars are for sale. Give me examples of sale prices from auctions like Mecum or Jackson Barret. Show me how they bring more money and appreciate over the original cost of the vehicle.

Here is one for a base R. It used to belong to @PP0001. The sticker on these base Rs are about 65K. The OTD price for this plain jane base R at Mecum with nothing special about it was 82.5K. Ltcolton's Base R was the last one ever made. I am sure that fact would influence a much higher price at auction, his car has historical significance. Find me a listing with a base R for sale. Yes, I know, that's a tall order.

Of all the (15-19) GT350R model years, there were only 135 base R's ever built (to include PP models, so really more like 125 total). Mine, OW with blue stripes is only 1 of 34.

Just because the super snake is more money doesn't mean it is more collectable. It certainly isn't rare and anyone at any time can go out and buy one if you have enough money laying around to take an OEM car and have it modified by Shelby.

Not a comparison to anything you said. I just thought it was cool. The only '67 was still alive and well. Your stable of 3 is is really nice. No one is disputing that. I have none and you have 3. No fair. :-)

Sorry, but early in the post, I made a comment of collectability and rarity in comparison between the two. My example was simply illustrating a point. Although there was an extra model year for the R that nobody expected, The R still is somewhat rare (a little over 2000 made), and the base more so (135 produced). Here, the OP has the last base off the line and I think that it is much more rare and collectable than an average super snake.

The 3 R statement was in response to someone's post that was perceived that an R is no big deal, let alone a base, let alone the last one.

Don't get me wrong, who wouldn't want a super snake.

Tom, You might be surprised about availability on the Base R's for sale. I have not followed the market on them as close as when we were on the hunt for one & just for fun after reading your post thought I'd look. The very first R that I came across 5 minutes ago was in fact a Base R, 17' MY 184 miles for a tick under $ 62K! I would say if any one has a desire to own a very limited # car this would be a gem to get!

The R is definitely a rare bird and if I would have gotten one in the first place instead of a GT350 Tech Pack, I would not be driving a ZL1 right now. I just didn't have the extra $20k to pony up for ADM.

Tom, if you are referring to my comment thinking I was saying the R is not special, you are mistaken. I sought out an R because it is special. You may or not be correct about the collectivity of the base R. That's the thing about opinion, you are entitled to yours and believe me, I respect your opinion. I for one was not interested in a base R because I will not only track my R but drive to events ect. If I were to specifically track my car, I would want the base. I cant afford two cars like this one so I combine the two.

Someone always has to bring the real Shelby argument into these discussions. They are all real. They differ in ways but they are all real Shelbys. You can argue all you want but, It was Carroll's decision to lease the 350 to Ford.
