Good morning everyone,

Just wanted to let anyone else who was waiting know that the 2018-2019 tune has been released by Ford Performance. I confirmed with them this morning and I am going to call my dealership shortly to get this done. They didn't really leave many details but Ford Performance told me it's a Filter and Pro-Cal tune.

Wonder why CAI isn't included like the 15-17? think the current air system is equally as good as the cai on earlier models?

They told me the one from the factory is already really good. I was wondering if this is why when people swap them out they don't see any improvements. I had read that in many ecoboost forums.

Is this the same or better or worst than the 15-17 improvements ?
Based on the website this was 2015-2017. They did not give me this level of detail but said it would be updated on the site in a few days.

  • Peak gains of 25 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 70 lb-ft at 2200 rpm
  • 40 horsepower and 60 lb-ft average gain from 2500-5000 rpm
  • 75 horsepower and 64 lb-ft average gain from 5500-6800 rpm
  • 100 horsepower maximum gain at 6000 rpm

So what happens if you happened to fill up 87/89 on a tune? say its all that was at the pump and you was empty, would it blow your engine up?

Maybe? No clue but I’m sure it would run really poorly. If you get the tune you basically need to do 91/93 is my understanding.

Maybe not the engine, but if you have enough spark knock then maybe a hole in your piston.

That sounds like some awesome gains! Are they coming out with performance pack tunes for the GT? I picked up 5 mph in the 1/4 mile after installing the pp2 tune in my 2015 GT PP. Using a 1/4 mile hp calculator the gains were higher than advertised so those numbers for your ecoboost could be conservited. The variables were minimal when comparing before and after on my runs. Either way, for the mustang community, I hope they continue to come out with performance tunes for every model!

Will they install/warranty the tune if you have aftermarket parts?

I'm running an aftermarket CAI, throttle body + exhaust and was planning to grab the Bama Rev-X tuner from AM for my eco but those numbers look promising.

Unknown. I would call a local ford performance dealer and ask. I have aftermarket parts but nothing like yours.

Can't wait for feedback on this. I have an extended warranty so I'd like to stick with this set up. Also interested to see how this affects shifting in the various modes.
