I'm lazy, so i wouldn't have gotten out, but i would have subtracted my own weight from the total, haha.

FWIW, Car and Driver writes about the '15 v6 auto trans, "This V-6 coupe is the lightest of the new Mustangs we’ve tested. At 3588 (curb weight) pounds, it weighs 100 pounds less than the EcoBoost versions we’ve driven." Not sure from where the weight saving derives as I've read the 2.3 engine is about 50 pounds less than the 3.7. Not sure if that includes the turbo plumbing. Smaller brakes, sway bars, manual seats, lighter 17" rims and other bare bones amenities on the six banger could add up, I suppose.

I think you could strip a street car down to close to 3000 pounds. There a lot of fluff built in. Strip out the seats, a/c and heater controls, airbags, carpets maybe headliner. You could swap the GT brakes out for single piston v6 brakes. Super light wheels. It would be work but I bet it could be done. I'd like to have the funds to try it.

Thank you for the responses.

I was referring to taking weight out of a track car. I'm just curious how much weight can be taken off?

I'm trying to see if it makes sense to build a One Lap of America car on S550 platform.

I got my 2018 10r80 down to 3450 without me in it.
Here's what I removed:
Rear seats
Passenger seat
All padding and interior that was behind the front seats
Catback exhaust (Just long tube headers and yes it was insanely loud)
Windshield washer fluid
Heat shield under hood
Drag pack
1/2 tank of gas

Car weighed just over 3650 with a 1/4 tank.

There's plenty more I could've taken off to get me a little further.

No that was without me in it. 300a 2018 A10 car.
The 3650 was when nothing was pulled from the car and had just a 1/4 of a tank of gas

Look at the race cars for what a stripped car would weight
FP350 ($115,000) - 3450 lb
Mustang GT4 ($235,000) - 3340 lb

Those cars are full of safety equipment and datalogging gear that most enthusiasts could do without. Also stated weights are likely not exact nor considering standard fuel tanks or ballast to fit into a specific class.
