Hah! Quick google shows an oil change near $500!I don't know how the technicians are compensated. I was just trying to add a bit of humor. I suspect a GT3 oil change will easily run $150 +

Reliable doesn't mean fit and finish lolGotta laugh when I see all this "Porsche is the most reliable car ever" talk based on anecdotal evidence (usually one person's experience). According to consumer reports, Porsche is ranked 13th, just a little better than Ford:
https://www.consumerreports.org/car...ion/car-brands-reliability-how-they-stack-up/
But hey, what do they know? Better to go by a few clowns on the internet!
Did I mention fit and finish? The discussion was on reliability. Regarding dealers, again, you use anecdotal evidence - lol!Reliable doesn't mean fit and finish lol
Also, go have an issue with your car with Porsche and then with Ford and work with those dealers. Let me know how that turns out for ya.
i think part of the expectation comes from the plain old sticker shock. $60k+ is still slot of money ... especially that stigma of what a mustang ‘should’ cost , whatever that means. What’s strange to me is my 16GTPP premium was a really nice car i thought. I didn’t understand everyone’s complaints...until i got the 350. I have the gaps, both front quarters are bent inward by the hood and have been since i got it, i’m in the process of getting a new voodoo, don’t get me started on my splitter ordeal, and now there’s a clunking coming from the passenger rear on accel/decel... some crooked shit peice on the dash i can’t get straight and for some reason i still enjoy driving this thing.
It’s my 5th mustang, i’m a bit of fan lol. But it’s caused me to look towards other brands, just not a porsche(wallet can’t go there!). Many of my issues can be fixed through warranty, but that is where i’ve Learned a lesson...you rely on that and you’ll be without your car, or a sufficient solution to your problem, ALOT.

I think I see what your hang up is... here’s my words below:I simply know how to use the search feature. Your words, sir.
SO if you want a P car, go for it but you don’t need to contradict yourself and then take a huge dump on your way out, just go.
Just pointing out the fact that your first post says "See ya Ford" and goes on to complain about a bunch of things - noting that you've said in the past that you were OK with buying a flawed car.Damn dude... fake news. Where did I say I was getting rid of my 350? I simply stated I’m done with “Ford cars”.
Wish there was a way you could search for how to be less of an antagonist. You’re always instigating crap for no dagum reason.
I can't disagree with the belief that the quality seems like it could be better - and on such simple things. It's not a cheap car and I've said since the beginning that it shouldn't have some of the issues that it has.I think I see what your hang up is... here’s my words below:
"do you think for once I'm gonna worry bout the 0.13562" trunk gap on the right and the 0.15264" gap in the left? No... Am I giving Ford a pass... No. I just chose to purchase a car that's not perfect and will be damn proud of it."
You keep labeling me as contradictory. Where have I been contradictory? I didn’t give Ford a pass then, and I sure as hell am not now. I have been getting my car ready this week for a car show this weekend. I’m still “damn proud” of my R... and that being said does not mean that I can’t be displeased with the shitty craftsmanship or dealer experience from Ford.
You yourself should know the difference between taking an Audi in for service vs a Ford. When I used to take Foci, Fusions or F150’s in for service, I got what I expected most of the time, as those were cars common to Ford service personnel. The GT350, however, has been an alien to the Ford dealership period. I’ve heard more than a few salespeople get the car wrong and confused with a GT... and the service personnel have shown how unadaptable they can be.
But, if you think I’m still contradictory, more power to you. My views haven’t changed from then to now except on Ford car quality and specialty vehicle service. As I stated before, my Raptor is free from a host of these issues which means maybe it’s just st a plant-specific problem.
Again... my car was near flawless on delivery. What was I to expect other than that I bought a $67k car and expected it not to have these issues in just 2 years? That’s a very logical expectation, so yes, my expectations have changed to where I expect something to break or fail again soon.I can't disagree with the belief that the quality seems like it could be better - and on such simple things. It's not a cheap car and I've said since the beginning that it shouldn't have some of the issues that it has.
I'm not saying that you are contradictory in your statements about noticing the lack of quality - I'm saying that it seems like your expectations have changed, but your car has not - so it's somewhat self-defeating.
Good luck with the P car. I'm actually looking at selling the R for a P car, oo..but for different reasons. I miss having an actual project, something to wrench on...and I think I have another cool build in me, still. I love the experience of researching mods/parts, ordering, waiting for them to arrive...restoring some parts myself...all that.
The oil change for a GT350 @ a Ford Dealership is more than $150. The service department will charge $12-13/qt for Motorcraft 5W-50. The parts department will sell it for $7-9. Let's say $7 is the bottom dollar (it isn't), that's $50-60 profit/oil change on just the oil. Sure, the tech may get paid for .3hrs of labor... but the dealership is charging an hour.I can't tell you how many threads I've seen about the cheapest place to buy oil. There is lierally a couple bucks/qt profit. That same person thinking that the tech should get paid more than $9 to make sure he does a good job would also say, "it's a Ford, why is my oil change going to cost $150? what a ripoff!"
