Unfortunately my mistake was I made the measurements while the 3 bolts were loose. Now my holes are off half an inch lol.

Grinding everything down to get it welded.

What was your solution to close up the gap in the hole in your seat delete? It looks nice.

I will get better pictures later on and show you. First I need to wrap the whole cage becuae the paint is completely destroyed.

I am using bicycle handle wrap.

You can touch it up with an airbrush. I wouldn't give it up at this point. Just cover everything else up and use a shop vac to catch any overspray.

Is not just touch up basically everywhere on the cage is destroyed.

Painting without sanding or priming is not a good idea.

Yeah the bicycle wrap is ugly as hell. I am just going to wrap it with gloss yellow.

Also,

Any ideas on what to put in the middle of the rear seat delete? Maybe a big snake?

A print-out of this thread as a homage to what you went through to get it in.

Haha tell me about it. It was a nightmare install but at end it came really good. More work needed to be done but i learned from my mistake.

Question,

Having the legs bolted or welded to the sheet metal, does it impact the safety? Sheet metal is weak so how does it work if the car tips over and the sheet metal rips away?

The the rear supports are located over a horizontal beam. That beam is the strongest part of the rear trunk area and when attached to the legs via bolts or a weld, support the main hoop structure. The two combined prevent crushing (The roof crushing down on your head).

Did you notice how many welds occurred along that beam that the rear support legs rest upon? Those rear support legs are not going anywhere. In all honesty, welding those in is actually much stronger than bolting the legs in (provided the welds are done correctly).

The reason they offer bolts is so that the support legs and main hoop can be removed if need be. Your installation is permanent.

Ok now I understand. The weld really good. The welder actually went all around the legs. Thank you

This is how an install thread should be done :) None of that "nope, no problems found, it all worked perfectly" kind of stuff.
