Ford Performance. I bought it because it was the cheapest option and bolted to a crash bar, so seemingly it will be stronger than the ones that bolt to just a couple tiny bolts on one side of the crash bar or the other.

That said, it is a complete pain in the ass to drill out the holes for this and despite measuring 10 different ways for a perfect dead center, somehow I still ended up 2mm off center or so. Only I notice it, really, but it pisses me off.

Since there are holes in the crash bar already, why Ford or any other tow hook maker couldn't just use those holes baffles me. I wish I had metal skills.

Have you tested this yet to see what kind of temp drops you see?
No. Missed two track days so far because my car has been at the dealer waiting on a steering rack. Had to wait for Ford to approve it. Now waiting for the dealer to realize my car has been there for weeks and start working on it.

Quite frankly, Ford dealers in the Atlanta area need MAJOR help.

Next track day is the 15th. Let's cross fingers I can go.

Any improvements on the street on CHTs? Not that it really matters, but curious if you noticed anything.

I assume that reducing the load on the radiator it should help with overall cooling too.

There are no oil cooling concerns to be had on the street. Don't install an oil cooler unless you actually need one. Frankly it allows the oil to be too cool on the street. Ideally your oil is 212" (to boil out water) and the oil cooler keeps it at about 180 on the street, which is where the thermostatic valve opens up to let the oil run through the cooler. I plan to install a higher temp thermostatic valve and go back to my 180* thermostat (currently have the 170*). There's no reason to run oil temps that low and I don't need the stat to open at 170 anymore.

I suppose you could create a block off plate to reduce airflow over the cooler to get the street Temps up

Doesn't really matter if I do that because the thermostatic valve opens at 185 (confirmed with Mishi). I ordered their valve that opens at 200 which will be more appropriate for the street. It's very easy to change should I need to reduce to 180 for the track.

@wildcatgoal any updates on oil temps using this oil cooler after some heavy track use? Also curious if it takes longer for the oil to come up to temp on the street.

I am tethering on pulling the trigger on this kit, but my main concern are it's effects on daily driving, i.e. reliability, leaks, etc...

I've had a couple track days now. The oil temps are about the same as the water temps. I'm not stock but I would think it will be the same for you. My event 10/6-7 I was seeing water temps up to 252 with oil temps to 260. (I know, still working on the cooling.) A month later temps at 232. As a comparison, a GT500 was seeing 212.

I pushed it harder in Oct than my event in May without the cooler and I was seeing about the same water temps. That's the only comparison I have.

The kit comes with a thermostatic plate set to 180 so the oil won't circulate until then. My oil temp gauge doesn't show any temps until I reach about 180 water temp. In AZ you won't have any issue year round. It gets much cooler here. A couple weeks back we were down to 29 degrees. It took a lot longer for the engine to warm up on my short drive to work. I drive it easy until it does.
