Quick question for anyone who lives in Texas; This will be the first car that I register there. I know tax is 6.5%, but how much is the tags/title and other misc. fees?
It may vary by county, but this is how mine looked:
License Fee: 148.25
Title Fee: 33.00
State Inspection Fee: 7.00
Convenience Fee: 10.00
County R&B: 10.00
Processing Fee: 4.75

When I went to check out my car yesterday and confirm my OTD pricing after dealer discount and rebates they were trying to push hard on an extended warranty. I kept saying no because I had my 2003 Mach 1 (I know different animal) and not once brought it in except for a transmission synchro issue that was a TSB.

They wanted $2,000 for a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. I do hate how they kiss your ass trying to act like they're your buddy then get hella mad when you shoot them down. Sales makes me sick.
I know there are always going to be instances where people will benefit from an extended warranty, but overall, they wouldn't sell them if they weren't making money off of them. I've got 3yr/36K bumper to bumper and 5yr/60K power train for no add'l cost. Chances are I'll know if I got a lemon before that. I'll take my chances after that.

I experienced the same thing when I bought my 2015 F-150. The salesman I use is fine, but I had to see someone else to do the purchase paperwork. The guy asked me multiple times to get the extended warranty and every time I said no, he shook his head. He was essentially acting as if I were stupid for not purchasing it. I actually ended up telling the guy "what part of no don't you understand." My salesman apologized but I told him if I ever buy a vehicle from you again, I'm not dealing with the other guy.

I've actually told them before if the car is that big of a piece of shit, cancel the sale, I'm going to go buy something more reliable. That will usually shut them up.

At the top of the sticker, just left of center, you should see a string of numbers and 'BLEND' right below it. You will also see a much larger font 4 digit number to the right. The top number above blend is the actual blend date. The 4 digit is something like your place in line.

haha. That's a good one. I will have to do that if I get someone pushing me to buy the extended warranty when I pick up my car (hopefully this week).

^^^ same thing for me. Sales guy is cool but the guy pushing the warranty was a dick lol and he reeked of a freshly smoked cigarette.

I felt like telling him "If I need this extended warranty so bad why do you work for such a shitty car company?"
Madtel4 very top of the sticker dead center you should see "blend" with a dated number. My sticker says 0306 which means March 6th.
Sounds like the guy I dealt with. He was an arrogant dick. Hopefully he still doesn't work at the dealership when I finally get to pick up my car. The truck driver must have picked up my car from the rail yard and then went on vacation since it still hasn't been delivered.

How’d you possibly get it at no additional cost?

Yes, I'm talking about the regular warranties that come with every new car. I have never bought an extended warranty on anything I have ever bought (washing machines to cars). I may be lucky, but I'd have to say I'm pretty far ahead at this point.

Hell, for me, they tried adding the extended warranty onto my order 3 times without even asking me. Every time I told them to take it off, they would, but then every time I asked for an update, they had it back on. I got tired of it and pulled my financing, telling them I was going to take my money elsewhere. that got them to fix it REAL quick, and they even gave me a $250 discount to come back

I'm usually against extended warranties but bought the Ford premiumcare to 70k with mine. It was $1200.

My logic was this:
 • #1 - the amount of evaporator cores going on the 15-17 cars. $1800 repair right there.
 • Powertrain does cover the hard parts but a lot of things like computers and sensors are not covered and since this is the first year of the Port and Direct 5.0 it may be wise.
 • I've got the digital dash and while I have good luck with the electronics, it's new.

Those were the reasons for me. Best case is I have an evaporator core go and I save money. Worst case is nothing happens and I may have well burned $1200.

It's up to everyone to determine their comfort level and there was 0 pressure on me other than "these are what we offer". That's the way it should be.

Blend is under 0419 (won't stay as I typed it? when I hit reply)

??? Is this the blind date and if so how do I read it. It it 04-19?
Thanks Lee

Yes, the status generally changes to "Awaiting shipment" in 2 days. Unless you car is held for additional checks/inspection.
