Car is a 2017 GT MT82 with GT350 intake/TB, PMAS CAI, Full exhaust, 3:73s and comp stage 3s on E85. I have a ported CJ, MONO TB and dmark CAI in the garage waiting to be installed.

Im considering getting the heads ported, and maybe trying to bump up the compression some. Im honestly not sure the best way to go about that as far as what pistons to use and what all to upgrade when the heads and everything else comes off. So im looking for some feedback from people who have already done this or some opinions on the best way to go about it. Id like to see a nice little pump in power up top but the down low power is what im really going after. As the car sits now under 4K RPM its a dog with the CS3s, so id like to get a bump down low.

few questions

1. who tuned it? Down low especially with cams id expect it to be pretty decent. Shaun at AED seems to have CJ IM tunes nailed down.

2. how do you like the 3.73s and them cams with the GT350 intake? I have a CJ going on an auto 3.55 car but im tempted to put the 3.73s in and a 4 or 5k circle d convertor too.

3. just me personally if i were doing a big NA build which id love to do Id do 5.2 block 13:1 compression if you can get e85 and ported GT350 heads with them cams you have or some L&M cams with a CJ IM that would be killer and id expect 550-600whp I dont think would be out of reach.

I was going to go this route, then I got changed my mind...I dumped a ridiculous amount of money into my setup to get 507 to the tires, I'm going FI. BUT!, if you want a full out NA bad ass build then go for it!! Tear it all down, send it off, bump up the compression, spend another butt load of money, and enjoy it!!! All in what you want...there's a guy on here with over 600 to the tires with an NA build I think it's a MMR built motor but it sounds bad ass. But knowing but I know now I would've went boost from the beginning. GOOD LUCK!!

OP, do you have a dyno graph of your current set up? My car has a GT350 manifold (stock throttle body) with Comp stage 3s, but it made shit power compared to my baseline (same mods, but no cams or manifold). I only gained 11 hp, and lost a ton of power all the way up to 6,000 RPM.

I'm curious who did your tune as well, and if you're satisfied with it. Sorry for the thread hijack, I'm just curious.

Thanks!

Huh? So you have same setup with GT350 intake and comp stage 3 cams and only gained 11hp and lost power to 6k or you have same mods but no cams or manifold?

That reply doesnt make any sense to me.

If you only made 11 hp with cams and a gt350 manifold fire your tuner.

or you dont have the same mods really at all.........

I have no idea what you are trying to compare or say here.

Well if he used the stock throttle body then there's no surprise he didn't pick up diddly for power. That's kind of fundamental that the GT350 manifold needs the bigger GT350 TB to make power.

No way in hell a stock TB should choke it that much LOL geezus you could pickup 11 freaking hp with a cold air kit....

I dont get what that dudes trying to say.

Stock TB is not the problem it flows plenty too btw ask the FI guys..........

If it only made 11 hp with GT350 manifold and cams that tune must be garbage or something.

I know Livernois claims like 50hp on a 100% stock engine with just a tune.

This....You always end up wanting more. 95% of people I know wish they would have gone FI from the start. N/A always sounds sexy until a a base paxton kit with stock motor puts bus lengths on you.

I don't want to derail the OP's thread with my question and build issues, so I'll link you to my dyno results and thread here. My baseline was full exhaust, Roush CAI, and Lund tune. Then added the GT350 manifold and Comp stage 3 cams, and the car gained 11 peak hp (same dyno) and lost power all the way up to 6,000 RPM. The car was tuned by Lund both times. I went with Lund because 1) I know they've tuned cammed cars before, and 2) I already had an Ngauge and didn't want to have to buy another tuning device. Needless to say, I've been emailing several other tuners to help me decide who to go with.

If there's any other questions or comments in regard to my build, please put them in the other thread out of respect for the OP and his thread.

 Your thread is 6 pages deep why would you bring it up here then say you dont want to derail this thread then.

Others have made over 500whp on GT350 IM and Comp stage 3 cams. There is proof out there that combo works.

I brought it up because you specifically quoted me and asked about my car, and then there were a handful of posts going back and forth about it. All of the details are in that thread; there's no reason for me to cover all of it again in this thread.

Only if you like spending big money for minimal returns. If et is what you are after suspension and weight is money better spent with the mods listed.
