What’s up guys. Wanted your input on going with 3.48 pulley and e85. I have a sai li fuel system that I will be installing soon and I want to get a boss intake manifold, and go with a 3.48 Paxton pulley. Will that be too much?

Stock motor and stock balancer or overdriven balancer? If stock block you may want to wastegate your set up for safety with that pulley!

It depends on your RPM as well because there are a few people that killed Paxton lately and it appears that the 3.48 is overspilling it. I was a bit disappointed to learn this since I thought the Paxton had more flow than the D1SC although I have not seen flow numbers on the Paxton site for the 2200SL. I am thinking about doing the same setup though and trying to decide if I should go with the fore hat.

This is what I'm running and it made 770 spinning on the dyno with bald ET streets. I might pulley up as in my opinion it's a lot on the stock block. Or do a 3.33 and a wastegate.

3.6 on e85 would put you in the 725-750 rwhp range depending on other mods on an s550. i do have guys pushing more out of them. all depends on how aggressive you want to be

How is that possible beef, and I see guys running smaller pulleys all the time. But my buddies has a 2200 hundred and by Paxtons chart if u spin the 3.6 over 7500 rpm u are already overspinning it.Is it just Paxtons chart is real conservative???

The 3.48 at 7500 is just below the max blower speed of 53000 @52603. 8000 rpm is 56110.

3.6 is 50850 @ 7500 which is below the 53000 max speed, 7,817.11 rpm will get you the max speed of 53,000.01 impeller speed assuming stock size lower

There seems to be a bit of strage things going on with Paxton Data. I just got an email from Paxton stating that the max speed on the 2200SL is 52,000 not 53,000 and it flows 1400 not 1450. Lets just assume it flows 1400 which should be at max speed (52,000). and the D1SC flows 1400 as well at max seed (65,000). On the same setup the D1SC makes 15PSI with 4.88 which is not even close to max speed. Either the Paxton is over rated, D1SC is under rated or D1 flows max CFM below max blower speed. I would love to see a comparison of the two on the same car with both set to max blow speed at same RPM.

different blowers and drive systems / gear ratio's, etc...

they just operate at different speeds, in general, the procharger tends to run slightly higher on temps, not a ton, but generally we see higher iat's due to the operating speed

I just want to know if the SL can be upgraded into the HD version. I've heard tons of talk but nothing solid or clarification from Vortech.

Paxton told me today that the SL cannot be upgraded to the oil fed. I wish I knew its limits upfront. If I were to do it over I would buy a whipple or twins.

the paxton is the base entry level head unit, there are 5 larger units if more power is the goal, but the paxton is capable of 8 second et's.

for the $, it's hard to beat.

but there are larger head units for not alot more.

8 seconds on the oil feed or SL? As much research as I did up front I never realized I should have bought a larger head unit. I guess goals change over time.

That's seems like bs to me tbh. They should offer a trade in program if thats really the case. I would have ordered the HD or a JT-b had I known better. I'm happy with my current power though. Just hope she doesn't blow.
