The 2018 front facia look like a downgrade. The 2018 owners keep saying “it will Grow on you” lol. Is like saying “it’s ugly but after some time you get used to it”
I think it looks more akin to the GT350 and is an improvement for me, I do wish it retained separate fog lights instead of the integrated ones, though. The backend is massively improved imo, the curves in the taillights look phenomenal to me... BUT, it’s opinion, everyone is going to have a different one. I mean, there are even some people out there who actually like those awful 2010-2012 taillights (the 2013/2014 LEDs were the GOAT imo :p ).
I’m going by in person, of course, photos are irrelevant to me. I honestly disliked the look of the S550 compared to the 2013/2014s... until I saw it in person, then I instantly went “whoa”. Didn’t need to grow on me at all, instant love with my 16 GT :D

Not butthurt, because I didn't have the money to drop on a fully loaded 2018, but was able to get a 2015 with 7k miles on it for 27k, and 22k after trade in of my old '06 V6 Mustang.

However, I do have to ask, for those saying they hate the front end of the '18 (I am one of those who hated it for a long while... and still prefer the '15-17), did you also hate the '15-'17 when it was first announced? I know I sure did, but it grew into my favorite body style Mustang (Tied with the '13-'14). Maybe it'll grow on me more as the months go on. I will say, I'm jealous of the A10 and the digital dash, tho. That thing is sexy.

My take on this back and forth is fun but a little crazy. Every year of manufacture will be different. "This I could have", "I should have", "I'll wait till next year" is nonsense. No matter what you buy or what you can afford there will always be something new or better.
Just enjoy what you have while you have it and move on.

If you can't get a new car, PC, of phone every year, this will happen.
I have an 18, 10 speed PP ordered but for the last 9 years had the same Mustang. In 2020 my car will be old and out of date that's life. Enjoy what you have.

2018 e85 and a tune roughly 400 bucks you eat 460 to the tires . I would say the 18 is definitely a upgrade

Would you agree that the 15-17 mustang is the best looking mustang of the last 45 years?

I initially didn't like the fish lips look of the 2015 but I bought the car for other features. The look of the car did grow on me and I like them fine now. I still think the 2011 styling is better - at least the front end of the 2011.

I do think it's tough for all of us when the new stuff comes out and we wish we had it. Cars especially in the last 5-10 years have changed and improved a lot. I remember as a teenager in the mid 80s thinking that old cars (late 60s early 70s) were better than the new ones. I still think I was right about that. Now there's no question that new cars are by far better than anything made more than 10 years ago.

We just need to ask Camaro6 to add a sub section for the 6.5gen owners. Ya'll will fit in nicely over there.

That's all great and dandy but this is what I paid for my brand new 2016. $27,419, under $30k out the door.

Okay .

You guys who keep sticking to this price thing realize that at the tail end of the 18/19/20/etc forever year production of the Mustang they will be just as discounted as the previous ones, the MSRP gap will close up.

I mean shit, right now they are doing a $1,500 cash back incentive. That's about the same as what they were doing to clear out the week-old refrigerated 2017 leftovers starting last Spring.

Looks are subjective at this point we are paying for the performance . I’m 29 but I still wish they would do a 69 body with all the modern tech . Anything 15 and up is a great car. But we can’t deny Ford is finally getting the performance down . The 10 speed and the new engine esipcally the ability to run e85 out of the box is great

Except it's missing the $5750 discount the dealers were doing, and don't forget that $750 cash back. That's huge and probably won't be seen till maybe the end of this year or early next year. That's the biggest thing that held me back from a 2018.

Not to mention they also butchered the 401A package that was once awesome on the 17's to now being overpriced on the 18's leaving out the Shaker system. Not fun being nickel and dimed to death.

It’s not that hard to negotiate down to near-dealership cost with the Mustang GT due to the hold back plus incentives that Ford offers dealerships to sell Mustangs... I mean, of course, it was probably nice getting that price without hassle/negotiating for late 2017 models, but I negotiated the price down significantly on my 2013 GT and 2016 GT when all that was offered was about $500 in rebates.
