Any rumors out about the MY2019 being any different than the MY2018 for the standard mustang Gt, other than the GT500?. So far all I have come across is no more yellow, is there going to be any major changes that would make it worth waiting to order a 2019 over the 2018? The reason I ask is I will be ordering around the time the 2018 orders end (3/2/2018) and the 2019 orders open up (3/22/2018) Planning to order around the end of February.

Order sheets for 2019s come out in March. There’s a rumor from a recent spec-sheet leak that the GT500 may have an actual HUD beyond the shift-light thing, which makes me curious if one will be available on the standard GT... it’s literally the only thing I feel as though the GT is missing now :(

Yea but my issue is the spec sheet will come out after the 2018 order bank closes, at least from what I understand..

I doubt it would make it to any of the other Mustangs that soon if it is just coming to the GT500. Took three years to get a digital speedo

Only changes should just be colors though unless there are minor things they change/fix which is unlikely.

Order sheets for the 2019 go up in March, it doesn't necessarily mean that the 2018 can no longer be ordered (ie: you could still order the 2017 for several weeks after the 2018 went up). Plus, if you were going to order a 2018 in March it'd take 10-12 weeks to arrive anyway. Alternatively, you may be able to find a dealer-ordered 2018 on a lot that has everything you want (dealerships can trade with each other after all) that you'd be able to get for a nice discount since it's the outgoing model year. :)

Haha yes! It took 3 friggen model years to add that darn digital speedo to non-Shelby models. I have no idea why Ford held that back from the regular models until now, especially considering it's just a single menu option in the information screen! When I test drove a 2018 400a (no digital gauge cluster) I saw it had the GT350s digital speedo and just started laughing to myself.

After reading the GT500 HUD rumor, I just have my hopes up that maybe, just MAYBE, Ford will *finally* put a HUD on their cars (mainly, the Mustang) for 2019. You have no idea how badly I want a darn HUD - it's the ONLY feature that I feel is a "must-have" that the 2018 redesign is missing! (I mean... I'd also take a flat-bottom steering wheel and maybe a 360 camera but... mostly the HUD :p )

I think the only difference is you'll have the honor of paying more for the 2019.

I don't have too much experience with HUDs but they look cool. I will say the digital speedo is so nice I am glad I got the 350 cluster but there is no reason at all the 15-17 cars did not have it. But yeah the 2018 cluster now has it :frusty:

I had suggested in some other threads but if anyone is looking to change clusters to get the digital speedo all you need to do it get the ODO changed and get a matching cluster ezpz once they start showing up on ebay.

On that note I am going to be interested in what the GT500 cluster/HUD is, should be swappable.

I can’t even describe how awesome HUDs are. It’s one of those things you need to see in person (and drive with) to really “get”. It’s like a hologram hanging at the tip of your car’s hood that shows all the information you’d need to never take your eyes off the road (rpm, current speed, next turn on gps, cruise control info, etc), some will even show the speed limit of the current road you’re on. First time I saw one was while test driving an S4 and then the Kia Stinger GT, best one was on my friend’s 2018 M550i as it’s full color and awesome. :hail:

Anyway, it’s unlikely to be swappable into another car as it’s a projector on the dash that’s dialed in to the computer and GPS of the car.

Looking at the USA Mustang configurator it is too expensive to fit Magneride on the '18s. I think MY19 might make Magneride an option on some of the cheaper cars and streamline the over-complicated options.
Would be nice if this was the case along with maybe the digital dash.

Seeing how ford is trying to reduce configurations across all product lines, i dont see them introducing any more breakout of features from what they have now.
