I don't have personal experience with them myself, but had a couple of buddies who had used them.. And they all got pulled over with warnings. Looking forward to the responses myself.

The photo tech between speed and red light cams is about the same.

Right now most of the modern red light cams can defeat plate blockers. Anything HD with an intermittent type illumination device can snatch the plate through the blocker.

If you happen to run into an older SD type camera then most of the platebockers will work. Eclipse, Photoshield should do the job but obviously as SD cams are being phased out you'll have less and less protection.

I just tag red light cameras in my GPS and avoid them..

From a practical standpoint if the speed camera is stationary fixed then tag it in Waze or your GPS and comply in that area. If the speed camera is mobile then you'll have to determine if it's laser or radar. If it's radar any detector will give you advance warning. Lidar, then you either take your chances with a Lidar detector or go with an active jammer. Poliscan fires all the time so a Lidar detector can be pretty effective provided your not the first in line.

Be advised. If you go active jamming you will not want to jam stationary fixed speed cameras. They can identify you by other means when you do that.

Seems a lot of people are obsessed with speeding in areas that are obviously not intended for speeding. You guys had a tragic example in Houston over Christmas and we had two similar cases here where innocent lives were lost due to bad driver behaviour.

When I visited my sister in Falls Church, VA, "speeding" was going over 25mph on a main street with 3 lanes. I could get a speed violation in Neutral. :frusty:

Just through some mud on your plate or move to Mexico, but then who would help protect you from yourself.

I don’t like the Murican govment scanning citizens plates to store in their databases and setting speeding traps while using safety as an excuse. It’s all about paying their fat unnecessary salaries if you ask me...a d I’d rather protect myself than some overpaid criminal with a badge...that’s all.

I just answered the question, not making a moral judgement on it.

I would suggest starting another thread inviting a discussion on the various reasons some people may feel like resisting being surveilled by their government organizations.

Considering how many of those are the cops themselves...

Thanks for your input though on how we should do things in America. Street racing is obviously the same as driving a few mph over

I'm not looking to pile on PKs, he makes a good point. I just think if we're going to get in the weeds on this we should discuss flagrant disregard of the law and our citizens rights to be advised on how and when we're being surveilled.

I'm all for law and order but I want to know the who, what, when and where things are being shot at me. Maybe that's just a Texas thing.
