Top is a 350r,
Bottom, gt500?

Also i compare it to a gt350, the lines look like a 350 to me although the hood bulge looks larger

While nothing was released at NAIS the 67 GT from Le Mans was there. That's way cooler then a model launching.
I was there the year that they unveiled the GT350R and the ford GT, so I guess my standards are pretty high as far as NAIAS goes

Saw this picture today online...

Looks like a taller GT350 hood, but the intakes on the bottom portion of the bumper looks way larger than a standard GT350... interesting that it has the 15-17 headlights though. Just because of that, I almost hope it's not the GT500... I was really hoping for a 2018-based car

Actually, yeah, after looking at the closer pictures, it really doesn't look like much more than a GT350

Here's to hoping you're wrong! Sorry, I just (still) find the 15-17, particularly the GT350, quite a bit better.

I’m with ya. Crazy thought here...do you think if they go with a wider front on the GT500/Cobra/whateveritscalled they might just keep the current GT350 design with some additions (fender vents)? Avoid additional retooling costs, if there would be any for the 18 refresh to go wider?

I'm in love with the aggressive look of the 18, and I really hope they find a way to improve on it. Love the GT350 look, but I feel like maybe the bottom part of that mixed with the top half of an 18 would look incredible... and the 2018 taillights

Mach 1? Haha..
Looks like no fender brake venting, has a very tall hood compared to 350... almost looks like a scoop.
The fender vents on the 350 are to draw turbulent air from the wheel wells. It could possibly help with airflow over the brakes but the intent is to help with high speed stability.

I'm pretty sure it's to reduce turbulent drag. Not improve stability.

100% like the older design better.
Don't like the 18 headlights!!

I call them brake vents because it throws the dust all over the side of my car, probably more than anything it helps with ;)
Maybe that car does have them on it. Looks like it could, initially it looked more bulging to me. Hard to tell for certain.

Unless they did something with the cover that hood looks to have a bulge to it.

Edit: with the camo off it's getting ready for the reveal :)

I don't believe this is the current GT350:

1) Hood bulge is significantly larger
2) Lower side cooling vents on grill are much larger - inner sides point towards the centerline of the car, unlike the GT350, which point towards to sides of car
3) Side view mirrors appear much smaller
4) Edge of upper grill opening is sharp, GT350 is blunt.
5) Body line on hood from A pillar to upper/inner corner of headlight is missing
6) Does not appear to have lowered front grill

Vents in fenders of the GT350 are there to exhaust heated air from the wheel wells. Air is heated by the engine oil cooler, trans cooler (on models equipped) and brakes.
