Go and get it for that price....you call, then get someone in the “internet sales” department and they say “I have to talk to the sales manager... I think that’s the price”. Then you get the news...”I’m sorry, that was a mistake, we are asking $10k over. It’s a very rare car, do you want to come in and see it?” Ask me how I know....

If you go to an on-line pricing guide and look up the dealer cost for a GT350 you will find that a $5000 discount puts it below what they pay Ford for the car. I would be very suspicious they are selling a brand new GT350 below invoice - even if there is some holdback to be had.

Possibly they were advertising a special - $5k off our already inflated ADM mark'd up price.

"You know the hype is over when..."
Coming from someone with Ford Escorts (pleural) in their sig. Why are you in the GT350 section? Oh, right, the hype... isn't over. lol
How is that relevant in any way?

I am in the market for an R. I have seen the 2017s being at $5k over when I call. However the 2018s are going for 15k -20k. It is so true about the internet salesman saying let me go talk to my boss and then he comes back and says it is a very rare car and they are selling for 90k. When I tell him you can get a 2017 at $5 k over he does not get it. I am patient and willing to wait even for a used one. I do think the best time to buy is in January/February. Also if you are not afraid to buy out of state - the states that have tougher winters are great areas to buy. If I was in the marker for a non R - I would buy a used 2017. Great deals out there and there will be more as we go into 2018

It's not...but neither is this thread. No supporting data for your assertion, almost looks like a troll move tbh.
What's trolling about saying you can get the cars for MSRP or better now?

Not sure why you wouldn't just buy the 2017 R except if you want a color that's only in 2018.

It's trolling if you come into a sub-forum about a car that you've decided that you aren't interested in buying and post incorrect information about how cheap they are..and use words like "hype". Have you decided on a PP2 100%?

It was auto listed by their system which picks it up as a Mustang. They won’t honor it.

I never decide on anything 100% until I've signed papers. PP2 just seems more logical for me than a Shelby given its lower price, and [suspected] Shelby like handling. I'm even still debating a 1LE.

Aside from this thread being a little sideways...I agree. If I didn't have a 350 already, the PP2 would make a lot of sense. I'm not saying that common sense, logical and best value always wins in these decisions, though!

The S550 platform is already excellent - the 350 took it to another level. The PP2 sounds like it will benefit from the magnetic dampers but I'm unclear if it will receive the 350 aluminum knuckles - it doesn't sound like it will. Still, going to perform at a higher level than anyone can benefit from on the street, IMO.

Because every month for the past 2 years a non-GT350 owner comes to the forum to try to tell everyone about how the prices are dropping. It gets old quickly. If you're considering a GT350 there's a wealth of information here, but starting another thread among endless ones just to try to tell people that prices will come down doesn't really help anyone.
