Question for you all. So I have a Lund FF tune and I just got some maintenance done for 30,000 mile benchmark. My mechanic did the following:

Clean throttle body, intake manifold runners and combustion chamber. He also put in a concentrated additive to clean the fuel injectors. Also transmission fluid flush and refill.

Now I'm not completely sure but car seem to be running a little bit different. Could any of this maintenance affect how the tune operates or slightly change the airflow into the engine requiring more PCM corrections?

When I start the car (even when warm), it maintains a higher idle RPM and takes longer for it to calm down. Drivability seems slightly different but not sure it may just be in my head.

Just wondering if this is possible? Would it warrant reflashing my tune or providing Lund with another datalog?

First of all, all that stuff seems excessive or unecessary for your mileage and setup. Sounds like you got taken for a ride by a mechanic.

And you're kind of seeing that by the fact that the car does not run as nicely or smoothly as before. My guess is whatever he ran through your engine/gas tank/injectors is not making the engine happy. I would run this tank of gas as dry as possible and fill with fresh high quality gas and let the car run again on what it's supposed to.

I'm aware I didn't need to do all that. But I wanted to do some of it because first, I am tuned and factory warranty will no longer apply, I know it will be awhile before I do any of this maintenance stuff again and I just plain wanted to do it for peace of mind.

I doubt it is from the injector cleaner but I will try your advice.

There's more to it than that though. How did he clean your runners and combustion chamber if not with some crap that was ran through the engine?

I wouldn't sweat it though, doesn't sound like it's an issue unless the guy did something terribly wrong.

transmission fluid flush and refill? I assume an automatic? So he left the transmission filter untouched?
did you check that he properly reinstalled the connections to the throttle body and you have no intake leaks?

I did not run a catch can, at 45k miles I took my throttle body of the see how dirty it was. It was not dirty at all. I took my manifold off a coupe thousand later doing the whipple install, it was clean as well.

I would say this additive is causing the engine to run that way, either directly or indirectly, or when everything was put back together you now have a vacuum leak. As you said it could just be in your head. What ever it is, it doesn't sound like the tune as that had not changed. Best thing to do it data log it and review.

I checked the engine bay and all connections are secure. No hoses loose and the throttle body connection is solid. My vacuum dash gauge numbers are pretty static. Don't see any signs of a vacuum leak.

I am sure it's fine and nothing to worry about. Thanks guys! I'll reach out to Lund if necessary.

It's in your head. Most of that isn't needed.

None of that stuff would require you to reach out to Lund. If the car ran fine before this then its not tune related.

Have you changed the plugs? Wonder what he used to clean the throttle body? How the heck did he clean the combustion chambers? Did he pull the intake manifold to clean it? Wonder if he somehow messed up the charge motion control valves or if they are now possibly sticking?

I would put some fresh plugs in it and run the tank down to empty and fill up with either E85 or 93. Does wot feel the same?

How the heck did he clean the combustion chambers?
I'm guessing with seafoam or similar. The OP better hope he didn't pour that directly into the intake manifold via a vacuum line or through the TB.

Didn’t think of that, if that’s the case I would change the oil and plugs ASAP!

Anytime you do that kind of cleaning you should change plugs and oil as well. The cleaner breaks up any carbon deposits which have a tendency to foul out plugs. It can also seep into the oil and thin it out, which is not good.

what reputible mechanic would do all of that on a car with only 30K on it? I wonder how much that bill was.

Well, I found out the problem. And there is a problem. They fucked up the inlet tube. They tightened that sum bitch so hard it bent and dented the inlet tube where it meets the TB. I was able to get to a gas station and do a makeshift fix but the car still isn't running right. It's running very rich. It doesn't throw a CEL but it's running rich and the AFR is fluctuating quite a bit. I'm going to have to order a new JLT intake tube. I'm pretty pissed right now.
