You really need to stop stalking me around and find yourself another hobby.

And the feeling about "missing" is mutual;)

Not even going to argue with some of you anymore. I think some of you are just very aggressive and rude in nature. I don't know how to communicate with you.

Thanks.
As long as you've been floating around on this forum it's really hard for me to believe that you've not seen the numerous wheel threads and posts about people running R spec wheels with 305/30 and 325/30 tire setups.

But seriously, most of these people aren't rude in nature, they just don't like to spoon feed people on issues or subjects that have been talked about over and over and over..... And I can't believe I'm about to actually take the time to do this but.......

To help you out a little on here and keep you from getting raped on every thread you start, just try to search first. Please, for the love of all that is holy, search it. Like every time you have a thought pop up just please use the search function before starting new threads. It may take some effort on your part by using different variations of what you're mind is pondering on, but I guarantee you will find it. If you don't find it, and it's a question about a part or product you're looking to buy for your car then go visit the Vendor Section in the forum. There you will find people who actually know and sell products and can answer any question or concern you might have (imagine that).

So, in conclusion, put some effort into learning things about these cars by browsing and THOROUGHLY searching this forum. It's really that easy.

Ok fair enough. The tire thread could have been avoided and to be FAIR, I did say literally on post #2 that I got my answer and thanks. I actually did use search and I was ready to close the thread in post #2, but it kept going.

I think a lot of the old timers have a problem with me because when I joined here, my point of view about ADMs and some of the comments regarding the car BEFORE i owned the car were a bit radical. A lot of people assumed I m some rich cocky person who kept comparing M3s and M5s and finding faults of gt350. But little do they know that on the flip side I find issues in those cars and complain about them. Its just my nature, I tend to focus on negatives in life and like "fixing" them. Also this thing with the ADMs was causing some pretty intense arguments. A lot of the people who have a problem with me if not all of them didnt like my point of view on this.

Anyways, I eventually did buy this car and paid no adm for it. This drove a lot of people crazy here because they all along assumed I was some troll who had no intentions to buy this car and who came here to annoy people. The fact that I got the car, as 2017 model year literally 1 week after 2017s started production with NO ADM drove them off the edge. Thats just what it is. So me asking questions a lot and not using search functionality itself dont really warrant the kind of treatment I received here last year. Its all the other history thats the reason.

Now, I am even giving up my M5 and to be frank I dont think I ll ever buy one again. It was so stupid to spend that much money on that car all these years. Anyways, I wish they could let past be the past and move on. Because I have. I love this car to the point of being obsessed with it. And all I ask is for people to respect me. Dont stalk me and insult me out of nowhere. I am genuienly being very cautious about what I post here and will use the search functionality a lot more as well.

Thanks.

You really need to stop stalking me around and find yourself another hobby. I mean that. Some of you are literally acting like the forum police which you are not and post on my threads just to make sure the thread goes down the hill. What gives you the right? What have I said this time that was so terrible? You know what? Dont answer that.

And the feeling about "missing" is mutual;)

Not even going to argue with some of you anymore. I think some of you are just very aggressive and rude in nature. I don't know how to communicate with you. Judging by your general attitude and the way you conduct yourself here, I have a pretty good idea as to kind of person some people are and I want to be as far away from you as I can. So please leave me and my posts alone. I never post in your threads, never quote you, and I expect you to show me the same respect and courtesy.

Thanks.

It doesn’t work like that. An impression that someone makes doesn’t stop in one thread or one username. I know this is the internet and as you’ve said, it’s not “real” and you only value real life friends....so why anyone would waste their time helping someone that has openly expressed those opinions is beyond me.

...and you have the nerve to ask what gives me the right? Fishing for answers without searching is actually forgivable. Openly expressing that you enjoy wasting peoples time on the internet because it’s not real... not really excusable.

Bye.

You have taken what I said in that thread WAY out of context. I was merely defending myself and trying to stay calm against pure profanity being used against me by demonstrating I dont take that kind of behavior on the internet seriously. Put yourself into my shoes, you have 20 people spamming your threads (and inbox) literally attacking you from every different direction. Its not nice and its hard to keep your cool.

Your perception of me is that I come here to only ask questions, use people, and never appreciate them. That is wrong. I actually respect this forum and the community and even you way more than you think I do. But I guess the feedback I shohld take from this is that I need to show this. Saying it or thinking it isnt enough. Hopefully MCarsFan no longer being an M cars fan will allow me to have a new beginning here. I should probably get a username such as gt350fan or nolongermcarsfan.

Regardless, I will say that I apologize for unintentionally creating threads. I shouldnt have done that. I am also sorry if I appeared unappreciative of people's help. It was never my intention.

I am however not sorry about what I said about ADMs. I strongly believe its wrong to pay them and I stand behind my arguments I made a year ago. I am living proof that you didnt need to pay any ADMs if you looked hard enough. This obviously does not apply to the R model.

Anyways, lets just get along. Life is too short.

Thanks for a detailed response, this is what I was looking for:)
You're welcome.

This thread needs to come to a quiet restful end. I have 325/30 Trofeo R's on a set of 11" OEM GT350 rims and the issue isn't whether they're a different diameter. It's whether they clear the shock mount and the fender.

Who's going to take this thread there?

In the transmission, there's a sensor that makes a fixed number of ticks every revolution of the output shaft (driveshaft). These ticks are shipped to the ECU where they're packaged up and sent to the Body Control Module over the CAN bus. There's a conversion factor in the Body Control Module that converts rotations of the driveshaft into MPH readings for the speedo and distance data for the odo.

The conversion factor is part of the "As-built Settings" for the vehicle. As-built settings are set at the factory based on the installed equipment (in this case the tire size) and stored in Ford's maintenance database. Whenever a new module is installed, the technician downloads the as-built settings for your VIN and codes them into the module. Various models of the same vehicle will have the same modules with different settings depending on the options chosen by the new owner.

So, yes, if you have the "R" option on your car, your as-builts will provide the correct conversion factor for the R tires. If you have a non-R, you'll have the same module with a different factor.

There are aftermarket tuner systems that can change this setting, but for a couple of percent it's just not worth it.
JAJ,
I understand the small difference and that it is fairly negligible. However, since the difference is on the high side (speedo showing faster than actual speed) over the course of many years/miles you would be putting more miles on your odometer than actual miles on the car. I'd want to correct it just based on that.
Would someone who wanted to do the correction just have to put the 350R as-built value in their car BCM to get the speedo to show the right speed?
If so, seems like a pretty easy mod with FORScan.

I'm not actually sure. I've read that it can be changed with Forscan in the BCM, but I've seen posts about that change causing a check code. There is a tire size setting in the GT350 PCM, so perhaps it has to be changed in both.

Since I wasn't concerned with it, I haven't researched it further.

After speaking with the moderators, my original account is back. I wont be using the other one anymore.

That being said, I think I need a new forum name because this one no longer makes sense considering I have taken a very "anti M" stance in the last 6 months and I dont see myself owning their cars anymore.

Anyways, just wanted to post here and say hi:)

A little note on tire sizing. This would apply to anyone with R sizes and planning to run the ps4s which is an overall better tire than the pss. I typically size tires under the same principles so I agree 100%. As did Ford.

I have P4S on my M5 and they look the same to me as in they are not wider for same size. Are you saying P4S is just a wider tire in general for same size?

An off the shelf PS4S isn't that much better in terms of dry grip than an off the shelf PSS, but it's a lot better in the wet. The bespoke GT350 PSS is custom made for the needs of that chassis/suspension, so I highly doubt the same size PS4S would be any better in the dry and probably would be worse on a GT350.

They tend to be wider than PSS for almost every size out there, although i'm sure there's a few sizes (sometimes bespoke) where a PSS would be wider, but it's not common.

Here's a link to that article. You should give it a thorough read:

PS4S does grip better than PSS. I drove my GT350 with PSS on Angeles Crest Hwy many times. I would lose a big traction when coming downhill at the turn where there is a big bump. With the new PS4S I go at the same speed if not faster, and the bump does not upset the balance of the car at the same turn.
