We got our power on tonight in Rockledge, boil order was lifted, getting back to normal for us but we were lucky.

Still no power, 15kW portable gas generator keeps quiting, very sensitive on oil and uses plenty in 12 hours, couldn't stand it any more, took the GT 350 out to a friends who had power. The BS FPL is feeding us is amazing, they are complaining about the trees and the lines, primary, secondary and tertiary. When I asked the spokesperson was he aware that we had more trees with Andrew and that FPL had installed all of these lines and was supposed to be maintaining them, he had no answer, then said wow so many trees, to which I said if you were maintaining things you would be aware. He quit answering questions.

Still no power, but gas easier to find, one station had premium only. Another last night I thought was closed no one at the pumps, I pulled in and got 40 gallons for generator, 20 for my daily driver, went home and got 10 for my GT 350, took my daughters car and got 20 for hers. Only missed getting wife's filled she was at work and they said they were closing at 11 pm. So a better day. Even got a few qts of oil for generator and an ice cold Gatorade!

So since the honeymoon to the Keys in November is out, what else is their to do in Fla that time of year? NO theme parks please.

West coast is trashed down south, bridge to Sanibel was closed, don't know about Ana Maria Island near Tampa, Panhandle Pensacola has nice beaches.

Anna Maria is awesome the beaches are amazing. It is my understating that Anna Maria did pretty well as far as Irma goes. One of my favorite places on Anna Maria is Mainsail beach inn. There is a killer($$$) restaurant right next door called Beach Bistro and it is amazing. Anna Maria would be an excellent location for a H-Moon.

Also depends on what you are looking for. The party scene vs more chill family vibe. Anna Maria is more chill family vibe but there are plenty of places to tie one on with your old lady if needed.

Anna Maria is awesome the beaches are amazing. It is my understating that Anna Maria did pretty well as far as Irma goes. One of my favorite places on Anna Maria is Mainsail beach inn. That looks good. we are looking for more of a chill vacation - we are not late night party people.

We rented a very large home for my daughter's graduation from Medical School, had extended family and friends stay, we were 2 blocks from the beach, it was truly a nice place to visit, we love Captiva as well but haven't gotten any updates on the island or the bridge connecting Sanibel to the mainland.
I would go back to Ana Maria island in a heart beat!

Bridge to Sanibel was closed as as precaution. That was reopened fairly quickly, no damage and, no reentry passes needed. From what I've heard, over 80% of Sanibel has power again. Our power came back Friday morning (pretty close to Sanibel).

any other place anyone would recommend? that place is a little pricey.

Sanibel island, captiva more expensive they are connected.
Pensacola or Destin, these two places are close and have been rated as some of the nicest beaches in the "world"
The other nice ones are to close to ground zero to consider
