Mcleod RST vs. 800 rwh

i have sold hundreds of rxts over the year to people and many run them with great success.

1 person said he doesn't like them, and then all of a sudden everyone across the "forums" says that the rxt is terrible.

i have sold more rxt than rst over the years, both are great clutches, and the rxt more of a track friendly clutch

another one that we have a great deal on is the exedy et04xd, twin sprung clutch, rated at 847ft/lbs at the tires, with 20% drivetrain loss and 25% safety factor.

we are installing one this week on a local customer thats on here that has already been 11.3 on the stock clutch at over 4k pounds

any of the 3 are really nice clutches.

the mach 600 is a great single disc clutch, with a power adder, if you want single, i would go for the 600

Trust me, I was scratching my head, but multiple guys claim to be using the 500 with over 700rwhp and 100's of passes at the strip with slicks. Is it possible that clutch is very underrated by Exedy?

Basically how I feel too. That one person's word is taken as gospel and spread like wildfire. At these power levels, if you beat the shit out of it it's gonna break anyway.

being in this stuff for about 18 years now, it's amazing the stuff i have read that one person posted, and like you say, has become gosphel

Guys I agree about bad info being spread like wildfire on the internet, but there have been a few more than 1 persons destroying an MT82 with an RXT. Also, the biggest name in MT82 rebuilds strongly advises against running an RXT in these cars.

Guys I agree about bad info being spread like wildfire on the internet, but there have been a few more than 1 persons destroying an MT82 with an RXT. Also, the biggest name in MT82 rebuilds strongly advises against running an RXT in these cars.

Yep MT82's have certainly grenaded with all kinds of clutches. Even stock. I'm just saying I've seen more reports of shattered gears on MT82's with RXT's. And I will listen and at least put a little faith in the guy that builds the most MT82's.

I would still contend that there are a lot more factors at play than just the clutch. Is it a harsh clutch? Absolutely. But your driving style will have a lot to do with longevity.

Trust me i can speak from personal experience,the mach 500 with not hold a car making 700 whp.I used one with the lightened steel flywheel and the very first time at the track on the 3rdd pass it slipped bad.From that point on the clutch was done.I would not use that clutch on a car making that kjnd of power unless u were never going to track the car or run sticky tires.I called exedy after that happened and the tech guy told me that clutch was rated for 490 torque at wheels,dont know wheir AM and these other sites got 670 ft lbs of torque.

The Mach 600 with grooved pressure plate I believe is the 670lb/ft tq rated clutch. That would be the Exedy I would would get on a budget.

I'm cross shopping twin discs and right now the organic Mantic is the clear leader in that arena. ~$1500 for everything you need, sprung hubs, and all the holding force I would ever possibly need.
