I was wondering if we get the PP centre dash gauges this time and also do we get the black forged wheels that look a bit like GT350R wheels - seven spoke I think.

Enjoy the show!
Can't comment on the wheels, but videos and pics of the dashboard of the RHD cars don't have the centre dash gauges, so unfortunately, I doubt it

Ask the question if its true that export RHD models have digital dash and active exhaust as standard please mate?

They are on my wish list:

Just listen to that, it sounds better in quiet mode than the MY15 stock exhaust did and in loud mode its lovely, certainly no need for aftermarket exhaust on MY18 if you go active.

Then that digital dash, love it, particular in track mode with the horizontal rev counter, looks epic.

They make it sound like the dash is a option

In addition, the 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine now has Ford’s Electronic Line Lock, which allows owners to perform burnouts to warm their car’s tyres and features a video game-like graphic when the mode is selected, if a new 12.0in LCD instrument display is selected.

Well, nothing I've seen (or gibbo, or anyone else for that matter has seen) has it as an option. IIRC it IS an option in the US model though, which maybe where they've pulled their facts on, as there's really a handful of actual RHD variants, I doubt autocar has got their hands on one (before Ford UK has).

Or you can install Line lock in your s550.1 (and LC) for a grand total of cÂŁ550 if you buy a brand new Cobb Accessport!

Interesting power numbers, more the drop in power for the Evoboost. Will make the S550.1 more desirable IMO.

Yes its an option on US models as in premium interior.

When in the US you select premium interior, the digital dash is part of that package.

We know all export models have the premium interior upgrade which is the leather centre console (no longer plastic), leather knee bolsters etc. All exports get this as standard, hopefully that means the digital dash is included as its part of that US option. :)

Isn't the leather center console part of the custom pack not fitted as standard?

Some cool new images of the Euro-spec (thanks for the link, TN!)

Thanks for that link mate!

I am gonna say it, I think the Americans might be jealous of the Europeans this time round, I think export model looks better than US model with its clear front lights and clear rears. Works so well on orange fury.

Also for anyone wondering that is a custom pack 4 car, with the forged wheels, de-chrome, satnav. It has had the PP spoiler not selected which I think is wise, car looks better without it and means you can add the 350 track pack one later which looks way better than PP spoiler option I feel.

Also to clear it up, Custom Pack 3 and 4 are the same, only difference chrome trim. The forged wheels will not come in black as some have being saying, this is incorrect, the forged wheels are one colour only as seen here.

I personally love the way the car looks, yes it does seem to sit a touch high for my liking but I can just fit the FRPP GT 350 springs which drop the car by 20mm which will be spot on.

The addition of plates make the front-end look better on this model year due to that big mouth, as said previously its the hood that is my only dislike, the front bumper I quite like, but the hood looks a bit odd, need to see it in person.

I am off to California next week, hopefully I might see one, but pigs might fly too.

Nope its part of the premium interior option which all UK cars get.

However because Ford are lazy, if you pick any colour other than Ebony, they cannot be arsed to change the centre console and as such you will just get the old plastic centre console unless you pick Ebony at which point you get the updated leather stitched version.

The early PR sell for the 2018 EB was that mid-range torque would be improved. For every day driving I'd take an extra 30lbft in the mid range if the compromise is a 30bhp drop in max power.

However, as the Focus RS has 350bhp as standard you do wonder if we will get a warmer version of the Mustang Ecoboost with an RS or ST badge to align it with other ford models? Or maybe just an optional Ford Warranted power upgrade? That would be nice. :)

I also think this downgrade is more an EU rules thing. Most of the EB never made the claimed 310HP, they were making more around 290-295HP on the accurate dyno's and not happy dyno's. ;)

I suspect the power is pretty much un-changed, 10HP down at most, not 30HP like review suggest but the cars overboost function will see big torque gains which will be far more useful in comparison to 10HP more at 5500rpm.

Power/torque curve is more important than peak power and hence the MY18 will be faster even though it has less power on paper.
