j-rowe14 any TSB for Underseal mate?
I know I don't fit in on this side of the forum, but am going to see my mate Mark (branch manager) at Trustford Dagenham on Sat. as have kept in touch with him and he wants to see the CS. I am more than happy to ask him about this, and a few other things. Mark is a Mustang fan, and one Ford person I would trust.

I paid for Fords "Premier Service" when I bought the car. They sealed the paint, the interior and then sprayed the under body. So they accidentally shot the under seal up between the engine and the strut tower and had black specs on coil cover and my oil dip stick. I had to get goo gone too remove it. I only looked underneath very briefly right after it was done. I need to really get under there see what all was sprayed...

We don't have that in the UK! Underseal is standard done in Zeebrugge before they arrive, and the work done on it is shocking!

Still think that if Ford do accept responsibility it won't be as good a job as you can get done elsewhere. All depends on how long you plan on keeping the car etc whether it's worth doing. I plan on keeping mine a long time so getting it done properly next month. Maybe I should ask Ford for a contribution towards the cost. Fitting my exhaust tomorrow so will get chance to see what sort of job they did in Zeebrugge!

My dealer is sending images to Ford and put a claim in

Has anyone done the same and been refused?

I sent pictures to my dealer, who showed their service dept... who said 'they all come like that... just they way they are'

In which my response was, regardless it's not acceptable levels of undersealing bearing in mind you've missed panels and covered the exhaust...

Didn't hear anything since, chasing the service dept today at some point just to see about this "Apparent TSB"

And herein lies the issue...

Underseal is not crucial to the operation of the car in any way, on performance OR safety grounds. I doubt you'll find anything in the paperwork that says these cars are delivered with an adequate coating of underseal either.

I hope I'm wrong for you guys that haven't had it done/taken delivery yet, but I don't see this becoming a mainstream fix: minimum 3hrs PER CAR. How many delivered so far? 1500? All for something that is, technically, covered under the corrosion part of the warranty?

Much like the RHD GT350, the numbers just don't stack up for Ford.

That's not to say it's not worth mentioning it to your dealer. They may sort something as a goodwill gesture, but other than that I think we'll be lucky to see anything else.

I'm probably screwed either way as I didn't bring it up with my dealer so I don't see them giving me anything if it DOES become a Ford issue.

Yes and no at the same time. I by all means agree with every single one of your points, however, it's a warranty claim, why? Because there was intent to underseal these cars, the underseal hasn't been done to a satisfacoty standard, and also hasn't been done to a standard the protects the underbody of the car like it should. It's also, for some people, been sprayed in places it shouldn't be sprayed. Now, I think that RUST on the underpan of the car - which can lead to other issues, is enough to warrant a 'look into' regardless, ford WONT issue a warranty recall on the cars HOWEVER they may issue a TSB, difference is, with a recall they will contact everyone to book their cars in, with a TSB it's the dealers choice to contact the customer, irrespective. If a TSB has been sent out, as rumoured, then once we get a hold of the document somehow, we can just show it to our dealers and we'll all be good - to be honest, do most of us care about the wellbeing of peoples car's who are not on this forum, or having read this posts?
