and they still had an issue with them fitting? thought andersons was supposed to be a pretty much bolt on fit without having to make a load of adjustments
Passenger side was not too bad but drivers side needed lots of work.No way would I call them bolt on unless you are not fussy about how they look.

Dropped 3 young ladies off at their school prom last night, with a 40 mins detours so they could enjoy the drive in the car.

Would love to say mine was the best car there but just a few cars in front of me was a beautiful 58 Chevy Impala!! I would sell my house, wife and kids for that car. Leaving me with just the dog, the 58 and the Mustang.....bliss!....just need to see if Mum n Dad will let me have the spare room.

Been trying to post a write up on these fenders since Friday but bloody internet keep dropping out. So anyway, here it is now

As soon as I saw the GT350 I wanted those fenders. Sorry I know they are wings over here but it just seems right to me to use American words when talking about my car so, before anyone corrects me, I am calling them fenders. Like it or move on!

Where was I? Ah yes, the beautiful GT30. I loved it as soon as I saw it but above all, it was them there fenders that I loved the most. I wanted them on my car there and then and hence, the research started.
For a start it seems that the genuine fenders wont fit a standard S550 as they wont match up with the original spoiler so I would have to buy from a supplier of after-market parts.

I looked at them all and honestly, I got put off them all. Carbon Dynamics, Anderson Composites , Duraflex etc, if you look at various threads on here and other forums, get a bit of a slagging so I ended up ruling it out.

Well, for a while I did but I had to have them. I sent reviews and pictures of the different types to the paint shop I use. He said out of all of them the Duraflex ones looked the best so I ended up going with Anderson Composites! I really cant remember why but the fact that GT101 deal with them was one if the reasons I guess. So, they were ordered and I waited 10 weeks or the to be made and delivered.

So last Monday I excitedly took The Beast and the fenders down to the body shop and left the job in their more than capable hands.

It was around midday that he texted me and said “These aint very straight buddy!” Then a bit later “Gonna have to resurrect Paul Daniels to help us with this one mate” They simple did not fit anywhere.

We expected to have to do some work to fit them such as filling such as this

but I thought the basic fit would be right and the fender would roughly line up with the panels on the car but this is what the drivers side went on like.

This pic shows how much the drivers side fender had to be built up with filler see the red on top.

Its when he sent the text that said “We have modified the fender as much as possible now, we are going to have to modify the car to fit the fender now”
Must admit, I panicked a bit, I have visions of him filling the drivers door to bring it out to the fender but it wasn’t that bad, he just had to modify the bonnet hinge. Must admit, I just looked under the hood and I cant see what he has done. I will ask tomorrow.

So, after a full week I finally got the car back on Friday evening. It was delivered back to my house as I was looking after my granddaughter and thank heavens it was because I had the opportunity to firstly hear and then see my beautiful beast as it arrived.

And LORD as it drove past me and into the lay-by outside my home; I got the first view of the passenger side fender! I am not one for using expletives on Forums but boy does it need them right now! How do I even begin to describe how incredible these things look without swearing but I will.
Freaking amazing!!! I thought my car looked like a beast as it was but now she flexes her muscles at the front just as much as her rear. It just makes her look that much more racy, like a fire breathing goddess on steroids.
And the finish of the paintwork! Vehicle Solutions have got the fenders looking every bit as smooth and shiny than you would expect from sheet steel wings under that Comp Orange paintwork. And lets nit mention the gloss black vent surrounds, oh shite, I just did.

Is this my favourite mod? Ask me again in about 4 weeks because right now I cant even think about them without smiling.

Would I recommend them? Err yes but it would come with quite a lengthy warning. Be prepared for a lot of work to get them looking right. Having said that, the passenger side was not too bad, maybe I was just unlucky with the drivers side

Absolutely loved the look of your car in Northampton, I'm hoping Anderson Composites ave sorted out all of their fitment issues but looking at some of the American guys, they did literally just bolt on and fitted "perfectly". With the fenders having to be modified, did both sides have to be modified equally or was one side worse than the other possibly creating a little issue with symmetry?

I was also looking at GT350 front bumper and hood and rear valance with the quad exhaust...that'll be well down the road though.

Thanks, yes I am more than pleased with them for sure.

Passenger side was okay and did not require as much work. Not sure if drivers side was just a one off bad one for me or not. Once fitted, I didnt really care, although its worth factoring the potential extra cost.

I am fussy as well. Where as some may accept the finish may not be as good, being fibre glass, I wanted the finish to match the rest of the car, so a lot of prep work was done before paint.

Lol, I'm as fussy as they come. If you don't mind me asking, how much was it all in, with painting, fitting, correction and order?

Difficult to say as I kind of 'lose' some of the paint costs as we have all our vans looked after by him. Hence he charges me as little as poss.

Wings were around ÂŁ700 including p&p. Paint and modification I guess, was around ÂŁ900.

Oh god....

I feel quite honoured that mine are still on.

What's the odds on it flying off at Silverstone?

Just a matter of time!!
Luckily I have the pieces that were cut out the hood. I am having them welded back in and doing away with the vents.

Too much original material taken away from hood, which means less surface area for the vents to bond to, not sure why there was so much original material cut away for this mod
