Hey fellas -

Trying to find 315 Cup2s right now is incredibly ugly here in Canada.

Anyone recommend any equivalents? I have Pilot Sports on right now on some BC Forged Wheels.

These wheels will be track wheels (have to drive to the track) and will be going back on the Carbon R Wheels.

Thanks in advance.

I take it Nitto NT555 G2 is sub par? I just got a set put on and have been liking them a lot. I'm on the other end of the mustang spectrum though.

Nitto NT555 G2 is not really a comparable tire to a Michelin Cup 2. If you want to hunt down some alternatives, look at Nitto NT01 (which I will be running on my GT soon in 305 square) or attempt to find Hankook RS-3 or RS-4s, Toyo Proxes R888R, etc., in sizes that would be suitable for your wheels (I don't think they come front and back in GT350R sizes). If all else fails, you can find a member on here that's close to the border nearest you and work out a deal? Or maybe the Ford dealer can work magic?

Something maybe from this big list: https://tires.tirerack.com/search?p...hod=and&view=list&sli_jump=1&af=type:products

Thank you for dropping some knowledge on me :) I wasn't 100% sure I may have been thinking of the lower tier Michelin's (is it the super sport?). Learning new things is why I love being on the forum.

Not only are they sub par to Cup 2's but considerably below Super Sports as well. On the flip side, they're reasonably comfortable and last.

Nt01, RS4, RE71R, Pirelli Trofeo are all in that range.
Oh 71R's. What a tire...as long as you're on autocross anyway. They get a bit a'squishy on road courses, at least Road Am from my experiences. I hear RS4's have actually been a bit of a disappointment. Faster than the RS3 v2's but skiddish. I think the disappointment comes from the high expectations that they would dethrone 71R's on autocross courses around the nation.

Where in BC are you at? Can't take a road trip down to seattle and magically come back with a new set of rears?

Oh I absolutely believe it in regards to the cup2s. Is it really a noticable difference to a layman like myself with the super sports? I am not trying to be a smart ass but am genuinely interested.

I just got the G2s and it is the first time I have ever done anything other than an A/s tire and was worried about tread wear. Glad to hear they are known for longevity, relatively speaking. I did notice a quieter ride on the highway and I think it was slightly smoother.

Sorry to rant. Just thoroughly impressed with the difference wheels and tires have made in the car experience.

If you're set on doing a DOT Track tire akin to the Cup 2 - Pirelli Trofeo R. NT01s are nice too, but I'm generally not a fan of Nittos.

Tire rack ships to Canada, you can order them at Ford or any Michelin dealer.
Takes a few days to get, but not a big issues.
