Jacking up the 2017 Mustang wheel change

Hi guys,

just got my new wheels and I want to jack up my 2017 Mustang to mount the new wheels. Where are the best spots to do it? Don't wanna bend anything.

Might not be model specific but the same. For the rear I usually use the diff/pumpkin with a soft piece of wood sitting on the jacking plate.

These are the jacking points for a scissor jack, I have a floor jack without a notch in the middle.

I've been using the pinch welds for a long time without any issues (using a regular floor jack) before getting the steeda jacking rails.

Get yourself a set of the Steeda Lightweight Jacking rails. Best non performance or unseen mod I've done yet.

What ScottsGT said - you can also order a adapter that has a slot for the pinch welds so you don't damage them with a floor jack. Just ordered a couple myself for when I install my cat back exhaust.

If everything fails, use owner's manual ? Pinch welds are fine, did it 100s of times withing last two years... So I understand that jacking rails are nice, but they add weight and if somebody tell you you're going to destroy your pinch welds by using them for jacking the car up (like its manufacturer recommended), he doesn't quite have an idea what he's talking about.

Btw - I just jacked up 52 year old car using pinch welds and it spent a month on jack stands while I was swapping original drum brakes to discs. It's fine.

One of the first mods I did was add the Steeda jacking rails. Not only perfect for lifting but great with jack stands as well. You can even use them to lift from any point along the rail. As for adding weight, they are 12 pounds total.

Btw - jacking points along the pinch welds are for car stability / equal weight distribution when on the lift / jack stands - not for structural strength.

I bought a hockey puck, pinch weld is still good. But I will definitely buy the jacking rails. Is not very stable with a puck.
