So look at what I found today! I placed my sync 3 unit into engineering test mode and enabled the test settings screen. This screen is then available on every start of the unit and allows you to among other things, change the theme. The theme change is only temporary however and will reset when you power cycle the unit. This screen does allow me to browse the available theme files on the unit which tells me two things. One, the Lincoln themes can be enabled permanently through as built data edits, and two, no GT theme exists on my unit... :(

I am guessing that the GT theme is a recent development and will likely be present on sync 2.2 units.

So anyone with sync 3 2.2 want to test my theory? All you have to do to enable this screen is turn the unit on and hold the eject button and fast forward button until you hear the unit start to test the speakers. On screen there will be a button saying exit test. Click it and then navigate to test settings. Once in that screen just enable test settings and then it will be available on every start up. Once that is done then just browse the themes and see if the Ford GT theme is present!

Yep. Worked on mine. Ford GT theme is active. Sweer Ford GT splash screen! Unfortunately when you turn off the car and turn it back on it resets to default Mustang GT theme.

Yep. Worked on mine. Ford GT theme is active. Still have the Pony splash screen though.
:eyebulge: So now I have to figure out a way to upgrade my 2.0 unit to 2.2... Wonderful.... Thank you for the comment! I at least know it is possible now.

PS: If you want the GT boot screen and have access to forscan you can activate it.

You should just have to navigate to the APIM As Built and edit this line.

7D0-02-01: xxxx xXxx xxxx

The stock value for that bold x should be a 5 or a 6. From what I found on another site, replacing that value with a D should activate the GT splash screen.

7D0-02-01: xxxx xXxx xxxx changing to D does indeed work for the GT boot screen.

I tried changing the 7D0-01-02 Xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx from a 0 to a bunch of different numbers and letters and couldn't get GT theme. I did get the one theme with different color buttons when highlighted and additional options in settings (seat massage, Sirius Travel Link etc) and it threw a 911 assist error on startup. I can't remember offhand but I think it was the value X in first spot. Tried the 8 for the Lincoln theme and no dice.

Awesome! So this requires no change to 7D0-01-02?

Yes this is on Ver 2.2

No change needed to 7D0-01-02.

7D0-03-01 worked as Ford GT theme with the values of 4 and 5. Did not notice anything different between the two. Never went any further.

The 7D0-01-02 and 7D0-03-01 are both related to themes somehow, but not sure whats what. Seems like the 7D0-03-01 is the main one however. Possibly the 7D0-01-02 is something along the lines of "buttons on screen"? 7D0-01-02 changed to 1xxx xxxx xxxx yields the changing button color, but did not change anything on the Ford GT theme.

Other thing is when I first did just the Ford GT splash screen (7D0-02-01 xxxx xDxx xxxx) it would display the Ford logo on shutdown. Without touching the above splash screen code (still on "D") and using the Ford GT theme it now defaults to same splash on shutdown as startup. I am guessing that one of those lines is possibly the shutdown?

One last thing. When I first tried earlier this morning, I did not mess with the 7D0-03-01 line at all, just the 7D0-01-02 one of the tries yielded extra stuff in settings. It had the seat options with the massage and travel link came out (no nav so didn't work). Also got the 911 disabled message. I forgot to write it down though :(

I work nights so getting ready for bed. Tomorrow morning I will take a stab at it again. I did the Radio RDS change and it messed up the SiriusXM channel id, so gotta fix that anyways. Hope this helps you out some!

Can someone who has done a base to Sync 3 swap keeping your original ACM, can you post a pic of your As-Built data for the ACM after you got it all sorted? I'm guessing you basically use the ABD from a Premium ACM, but change 727-01-01 to account for the fact that you don't have the Premium's amplifier.

Going by the F150 spreadsheet, I *think* 727-01-01 should be changed to: xx00 xxxx xxxx which should give you internal amp front+rear speakers, and aux output (sub etc.) disabled.

As far as the APIM programming goes, on the F150 spreadsheet, it when 7D0-01-01 is set to xxxx xxxx x0xx it will turn off the heated/cooled seat buttons on-screen. Is that correct for us?

Anything else I'm not thinking of?

I can confirm that this does NOT work on 2.0 (as expected).

In order to get this them you must have sync 3 2.2 or greater. That is unfortunate since of course I have to have the one unit that does not have a 2.2 update file.... :frusty:

Taken directly from my ACM. Only the first line or two have to change.
