Looks are always subjective, but I do get a little confused about the whole "muscle car" thing, because there have been plenty of Mustangs that didn't have the big, tall hood. To me, that means it's not necessarily a "required" Mustang trait.

Is the orange fury that's been on display in person not the final color yet? Because it looks totally different from the computer generated images from the marketing promos. I don't see how it is a "metallic." Every picture from the auto show, and the one outside video, makes it look like a flat orange/yellow. I would love if it actually looked as metallic as the promo pics...

Definitely not "metallic". It looked flat to me - just viewed it today for the first time in Tulsa. Definitely doesn't look the same as the color of the car displayed on the Ford website. I do like the re-design though. It makes the 2015-2017 look tired/stale -- particularly when you see them in the same room together. (Of course, that's the case with about any revised model.) The picture doesn't do the car justice at all. I agree with others that it's hard to photograph -- totally different vibe when seen in person.

I sat in both the '17 and '18 at the Kansas City auto show and there is far less hood in view in the '18 than the '17. I agree with above that when viewed in the same room the '18 does make the '17 look a little stale. Don't want the spoiler though, love the rear end the way it is!

I talked with someone at Ford today via phone. This person told me a few times during the convo, the '18GT will be rated at 465hp. He did not have firm TQ numbers, though. Guess I'll know if his info was accurate in the next week or so.

I'll make a wild guess on torque for the 2018 - 420.

465 will be a healthy bump. As far as TQ, i would say 415 at max. So 465HP/415TQ

If that's so then meh.. why would they bump hp by 30 and torque by only 15-20?? Torque is the ONLY thing that's really lacking IMO.

I think 415-425 should be a good number for TQ. More TQ = more wheel spin :headbonk:

The Coyote makes good HP due to being able to breath well (produces and hold torque well at higher RPM) and has a high redline. It's always been a little low on torque compared to the compensation, but it is somewhat smaller in displacement.

The person that took this photo described it as a metallic Grabber Orange. He also stated the Ford personal at the reveal stated the production colour would be slightly darker.

Like many colours, it looks very different under certain lighting conditions. I do agree though, the CGI versions are way off and make it look more copper.

Torque is more about displacement where hp is rpm and breathing efficiency.

Forget peak numbers, look at the spread of power throughout the rpm range.
