Whats the average spent on full bolt ons and e85 on the 5.0s? I've pretty much spent about 4k to get to 380 lol
it depends on what your definition of "FBO" is.

Intake ~350
headers ~1000-1500 depending on brand and if you pay to install them
tune ~400

that usually puts people around the 440 whp mark on the dynos in my area, with stock GT's putting around 385whp on those dynos.

add an intake manifold for ~500 (holley sniper) or 1k for the GT350 and some were seeing 450-460. It's pretty easy to get big power FI as well. Not necessarily CHEAP, but easy and pretty reliable too.

Had second thoughts when I ordered my Mustang as I was thinking maybe a 370z. Finally test drove one a month ago, and boy was I happy that I ordered one.
I test drove a 370z as well when I was car shopping and talk about being underwhelmed.

Once apon a time. I had a 400WHP SRT-4. Sure it's a blast to make something with a little motor go fast. But what no one wants to tell you. Is something is always going wrong. Snapped axles. Fried clutches. Changing spark plugs every 6 months because of spark blow out. Broken input shafts in the weak transmissions. The list goes on and on. Get the V8 with an Automatic transmission and your practically bullet proof up to about 650WHP. Or slap a bunch of mods on a 4banger and hold your breath every time you hit the throttle!

Big difference from your 2003-2005 Dodge Neon Srt-4. Not only are cars built better and beefier today, but your Srt-4 started life out as a Neon... Need I say more?

Same issues the Mustangs have when upgrading the power?

Is there a big surprise that stock parts start to break after adding 50-60% more power?

This! Exactly how I felt with my previous 4banger. Felt like with the extra boost I was just crossing my fingers every time I drove it.

No matter how much lipstick you put on the Evo, it's still an Evo

Get the Mustang GT 5.0 and you will never look back

See my sig. I owned nothing but Subaru's prior to the Mustang. I was actually looking into an Evo when cross shopping the Mustang/Camaro but just felt like the car is way dated at this point to pay 35-38k.

With that said, I got my GT at the end of June 16. I have since put 14500 miles on it. I have enjoyed every one of them and have not looked back honestly. From the sound, the looks to the way the car delivers the power I just felt like there is more thrill involved. This car will get your blood pumping real quick. With my previous cars I felt like I had to really push them to get that thrill and the fact that I had to heavily mod them to get the power I get now stock (well I am running e85 flex tune).

Usually in the Subaru I only got other Subaru enthusiasts come talk to me about the car. In the Mustang, I can't go anywhere in one day without someone coming to compliment the car on the way it looks or sounds, or just wanting to talk cars in general. The S550 is clear indication that Ford did it right on this car because people go crazy for them.

I still go up on the mountains with my Subaru buddies and I can drive as hard, or harder than they do on the curves. I am just lowered on coils, wheels and tires and the car grips hard (255/275). I was pulling close to a G on the curves the other month.

The only thing I will miss is the resale value. The Mustangs don't hold value NEARLY as well as WRX/STI/EVO. So if you are looking for a car that you might end up selling later, getting used is the way to go so you don't bite the depreciation loss.

The main reason I went with the GT is because aftermarket is REALLY good. Much better than almost any other car I've seen. The Coyote is a proven motor and can handle 650-700whp safely without even blinking an eye. If you enjoy pushing limits you can get more out of it than that.
This is what I haven been looking for. The mustangs interior is years ahead of the evo x and as the time has gone by the looks of the 15s and up has grown on me. The plans would be to go full bolt on with e85 on the coyote within a couple of months and then save up for a procharger! I have a couple of buddies with 04 cobras and with just a small pulley and intake the power delivery is crazy compared to any evo or sit Ive driven haha

The thing is you don't have to double the power when you start out with 135HP more to start. Do the math.

Forgive my ignorance, but how did you get from 291 HP at the crank to 380 at the wheels with bolt-ons and a tune? That's a wheel horsepower gain of what..130-140?
My stock evo x put down right about 220 and e85 is what really makes the big difference and 380 uncorrected is an aggressive map that is pretty much maxed out on the stock turbo at 30 psi and yes I daily drive the car from time to time and haven't had to much troubles besides always running into boost leaks lol

That would still be less then what Ive spent on the evo to make it full bolt ons so it doesn't look that bad to be honest!!

Old news. Was a 2015 issue. 2016+ no boomy. Only reason the ecoboost has ONLY 310hp stock is so it wouldn't KILL the 5.0 and have people like yourself in a panic.

Every engine has its breaking point. Even your beloved 5.0.

There's something I forgot about boost leaks! Nothing like randomly losing power. And having to tighten clamps all the time. Those clamps by the intercooler and by the turbo are a peach huh?

LOL take you blinders off kid. I can go to the 4 banger section and find 2016-17 engine failure threads. Find me a coyote thread. The breaking point in my beloved 5.0 Just happens to be a lot higher than your beloved EB. That's why the shops that build EBs are all using aftermarket blocks. Go to the fast list and do a a quick check and get back to me. If you wanna do things the hard way. Start with 4 less cylinders and half the displacement!
