Says that guy with 380hp Evo a V4 lol.
Honestly if you had a 380hp EVO why are you even looking at Mustangs. They will not satisfy you unless you drop big money.
What???

Ya, ain't no way. A FBO +E85 GT is making 460-470whp (PER THE DYNO OK, LOL).

I guess my definition of a FBO GT would be =
LT Headers/exhaust
Intake
Intake Manifold (CJ/GT350)
e85 tune
47lb injectors

My buddy has a 2015 EVO X and at the time was FMIC, test pipe, all that stuff, pro tune (26psi) on 93. I was bone stock and I was slowly pulling him on 50-60mph rolls. To be fair, he is a good 230 and his wife is probably 160-170lb and his 80lb son was in the car too and it was only me in my car (Base 6spd PP).

How many GT's do you see our your way? I'm assuming you are in the land of AWD. Maybe go to your region on the forum and see if anyone is willing to let you ride/try their modded GT.

Nice and weight does make a good amount of difference in the evo but still for a stock 5.0 that's impressive. In my area their is 20 evo x that I know of personally without counting 8s and 9s so that's another reason I've looked into the mustang as their is not too many that I know of personally. If everything goes well with work I'll be test driving both the auto and manual this weekend!

wow..... This thread has taken a dive for the gutter....

First off, I will assume we are all car guys here and should respect all aspects of the car culture. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and just because you don't agree doesn't mean 1person is right over the other...Now as for myself, I will interject my PERSONAL experience.....

I have always liked Mustang since the Fox Body LX 5.0 came out in 85. I have NEVER owned one till I picked up my '16 GT PP in February of 2016. I did NOT test drive it, I just traded in my 2013 F-150 and drove of the lot. My VERY first impression after driving 2 blocks was that it was just OK. I was not impressed with the power at all but I did enjoy the new technology and it's looks. I have since invested some money into just bolt ons and I feel it is definitely much better than stock. Is it a speed demon or a super car killer.... NO, but for the money it is a great platform and the aftermarket support is amazing. Anything and everything you want is available at the click of a button.

Now, my previous toys have all been imports, mainly Mazda RX7's. I have had several of them boosted with fully built motors and they were truly FAST cars. Yes it takes money to get to the 600 WHP number but when you do it was totally satisfying to see the look on V8 owners faces who felt their was "No replacement for displacement". As far as longevity of built motors goes, I have learned that your TUNER is the deciding factor. If he knows how to properly tune a motor, it will last a long time while being beat on. I can attest to that statement as I would drive my RX7 70 miles to the track on drag tires, run 10's all night and then drive 70 miles back home with no issues. That car is still on the road driving around with no issue on E85 for the last 4 years and counting.

So for some to make statements like they have is to show lack of knowledge of how technology has advanced to the point where building high HP motors that are dependable is actually now become common place.

After I hit my 1000 mile break in on my Mustang, I went to wind it to redline finally, I couldn't stop giggling like a little girl. It pulls completely different from a turbo 2.0/2.5 4cyl. 3500-redline it just steadily pulls and pulls more the further you go. Turbos you get the initial hit then it kind of goes linear then dies off around 6k RPM, unless you go with a bigger turbo.
No wonder some of these cars run like shit and use a bunch of oil.
I never had to wait 1000 miles to redline either of my coyote Mustangs.
Does it actually state in the owners manual to wait 1000 miles before you
beat on your car ?

So your telling me my 380hp evo x is way more satisfying then a full bolt on coyote on e85 ??? I enjoy all cars and platforms and even tho the evo is great it's not the best car in the world and feel like trying something different ..
Your EVO is gonna be so fast off the line on the street the Mustang would look like it's stalled.
400-450whp is gonna be hard to be in the 4s 0-60 for the mustang. I bet the EVO is well in that time.

Good story. My built Winsor is shooting for 8s. Low 10s on motor. No power adder.. So don't get to carried away with yourself. 10s are only fast to people that have never experienced 7s, 8s or 9s. Maybe you'd be able to see that look on this V8 owners face. If you took on my 95? Naw. So if you ever want to line em up. You can teach me a lesson about displacement. Just saying. And I bet it cost you just as much to make a 600WHP 4 banger. As it did for me to make my 900WHP V8! Beating stockish V8 cars like what you described above. Is what the 4 banger crowd lives for. For straight line speed you cant beat a big motor. There's a reason you don't see 4 bangers in funny cars. Other types of racing there is more to it than just raw power. But for the drag racing. Big motors are king! I don't care how good the tuning is in your RX7.

What overall made you decide to go with the mustang? I've driven the ecoboost mustang just not the v8 so I'm hopefully to be able to do that this weekend!
Honestly I just always wanted a V8 Muscle car. I didn't even have a preference between Camaro, Challenger or Mustang. The sound, power and cosmetics are exactly what suited me. I do a fair amount of hwy cruising and all of these muscle cars are great on the hwy. Decent gas mileage too!

After driving all three (challenger was only a v6 tho) I really thought the Mustang was the best value in price. Camaro 1SS compared To my base GT was $8k more! I'd rather spend that money on mods.

I have my SI for a daily it's a great 4cyl N/A car. It SUCKS for long drives. The racing type seats are terrible for anything over 1.5hours. Mustang is a lot more comfortable. Also at 70mph the engine runs at 4k rpms... annoying

Also at 33... 4cyl sporty cars feel like they are meant for people in there 20s. I just outgrew the scene.
