Whipple Versus Other Tunes

Is it a mistake to not go with the canned Whipple tune versus getting a custom calibration? Lots of hype on their end on the calibration work they did but is it truly the best of the best? Plenty of Lund and PB Dyno cars running around, as well.

My goals for the car are to start out on 93 pump, max that out, then move to e85 and more boost, all stock motor.

whipples tune is going to be a global catch all tune.. im sure its good but they are also putting in a level of room for many differenct cars and setups so you will see improvement from a custom tune.

Whipple will work with you as well on the settings/calibration. However, it is very set in stone and a moderately conservative tune. Going with Lund/PB Dyno is a pretty safe bet, but they are a bit more aggressive. Whipple tune/flare tool is an amazing setup, and they are constantly making revisions/updates.

My main concerns are with the basic driveability and transition into and out of boost. I have been told there is a bit of a hanging throttle after going WOT with most boosted applications, not clear if this is just general to the mustang tuning or unique to non-Whipple tunes.

And also coming from a whipple powered hemi where tuning was atrocious in my opinion, I don't want to have a lightning switch throttle from moderate throttle to involuntary WOT, I have confirmed the Whipple tune does not have this issue, not sure on the others?

I have a 2015 Mustang Premium with the 6A Whipple Stage two, OPG/TS/Balancer, Catless LTH on the Whipple flare/tune. Since the latest revision, the shift points and the boost hanging is really a non-issue. Drivability is amazing. It drives like stock until you are at WOT. My girlfriend drives my car from time to time, and she said she can't even tell the difference except for the noise.

All I can say is damn picked up better gas millage with Lund car feels awake
Also have id1050x
Hwy millage can get 28+mpg

I was lucky to get 20 with whipple tune
Felt whipple tune drank a lot of gas

Whipple stage 2 dual fans 3" catback 1 7/8 catted
3.625 pulley

how is the drivability Whipple vs Lund tune? Any hesitations, throttle hang, etc etc? How far % wise can you go before it goes full boost?

and yet my lund car has been tuned by them for 10k miles and have had 0 problems. so i guess youre back to square one?

including the nGauge, budget about $800. its the same as you not having a tune at all.
