The ones I saw in Detroit didn't have the analog gauges - I don't think I've seen a show car yet with them to be honest.

The Royal Crimson EcoBoost Convertible that was on display at the Pittsburgh auto show had analog gauges but unfortunately I was too far away (it was on a stand) and they weren't lit up so I couldn't see what they looked like. Hoping someone else got up close to that one or another. With previous refreshes they change the font and even swap the tach and speedo pods sometimes so I was curious to see if that was the case this time.

I kind of wish there was a "no model designation" package, like you can get on Porsches.

Where they would leave the 5.0 and GT badges off.

That crimson red Ecoboost's fenders just look so much cleaner with no 5.0 badges.

Plus it allows you to be a "sleeper", people think you have a v6 or ecoboost.

They must have been opening and closing it a lot (except at the Shows).

Too bad no one has gotten a peek at the Engine Bay.

While it isn't an excuse, it isn't as if the 2015-17 Mustangs haven't had their share of pathetically-poor-fitting panel alignment issues.

...and many more instances. My point is the new design, whether you like it or not, is not the culprit.

The video that was posted in the Crimson Red 2018 topic really highlights how the EcoBoost grille makes a HUGE difference in appearance of the 2018 because it doesn't have the fangs. Those fangs are what brings a lot of the unbalance to the whole design, firstly because they are not a continuation of any other line above them and secondly because they are not parallel to the lines of the under grille, unlike the ones on the 2015.

Personally I already preferred the EB grille over the GT one on the 2015 as well, but on this refresh the difference really is day and night.

Also the matt texture on the EB grille looks much better than the gloss black on the GT ones we have seen so far. Although that might be part of a certain spec level and the GT grille might eventually also come in matt.

The GT's "fangs" are absolutely a continuation of character lines in the hood. If anything, the 2015-17's fangs are as you describe.

My theory is they got a heck of a deal on black paint so black cars are more profitable. But how do you convince non-goths to buy a black car? Simple, make the panel gaps so big they make other colors where its noticeable look worse.
