Hello,

I always take my GT350 to the track, noticing that from 1 lap ( 3.3 Miles) (Weather: 77F Degree) , the engine oil temp reach 120C (246F) and from the second lap the snake start to limit the power(on high rpm's)

Is it normal? My car is the track pack ( bigger coolers stuff than the base model)

Cheers

246F is normal oil temp for the track. Under those conditions, a track pack should not experience limp mode. Take the car in for service.

Your photo is difficult to see in your avatar. That looks like a tech pack spoiler... again difficult to see. You are sure you have a track pack, right?

Again, the track pack shouldn't go limp. If it is a tech, then it is possible but not probable for limp on only the second lap.

Anything blocking/stuck in your front driver's side lower oil radiator?

How's your oil level and oil life?

As said 240's oil temp is ok after some time on the track

Shouldn't get hot enough to limit power at that ambient temperature. Did you check your tranny and rear differential temperature in the auxiliary gauge section to ensure those temps are ok as well?

How is your oil level?
I also noticed your exhaust tips are black. Are they in fact black, dirty, or oil soot?

I assume you also checked to make sure you have the added coolers of the Track Pack?

It might be the lighting, but I can't see the rear differential cooler in the back through the mesh on your car. On my car, I can see the cooler in rear end photos, provided the lighting is right. Even more important is the trans cooler, should be visible through the front passenger side lower air duct (on LHD cars).

I just took some photos, the coolers are there,

No doubt it's a Track Pack. Something is not right, you should take it in to be checked. Even the Tech Pack/Base cars can get in more than one lap before going into limp mode.

Thanks for the comments,

Speaking of which, regarding the Brake fluid, Trans Oil, Diff Oil, i never changed them, 5 track days ( odometer is 4000miles),,

What are the intervals to change them while taking the car to the track?

So far reporting about limp mode in base and tech has only been a result of transmission temps; never oil temps like this case. All cars have the same engine oil coolers. May want to confirm trans temp next trip to the track.

oil cooler is in the left fender. In theory a blocking plate exists for that grill. I'm 99.9% certain that isn't the issue, but its 2 seconds to check it before you take it to Ford to get fixed

This is not normal, 246F is a good oil temp on the track and should not effect performance. I would assume there is another issue going on with the power limit.

Hey folks, buried deep in the GT350 saga, is an interview with an engineer from Ford stating they were working on improved cooling not just for the Base/Techs, but also the Track/Rs. Please keep the pitchforks at bay, I'll do some digging to find the source and post when I can.

Yellow350, check your transmission temp next time you track it. You might be surprised at how hot your transmission gets..

Were you in track mode or sport mode? I had a senior moment at my last event and forgot to toggle fully into track mode and ended up in sport mode on the paddock. On the second lap after everything was up to temp, the car fell off at 7500 rpm on the first straight and then I remembered to flip it into track mode, no issues after that at temps close to yours.

In fact, I thought it was weird it acted in that manner, so on the next run I started in track mode and after warm up I ran a couple of hard laps without issue, switched to sport mode and had the same issue around 7500rpm, switched back to track mode and it was perfect the rest of the session.
