would those suffice? if i replace my stock for a GT350 halfshaft, CJ selling them for around 400. i dont see my self spending 1000+ for halfshaft, im currently running whipple stage 2 with 3.625 pulley. and im stopping at that.

Do you plan on tracking the car? If yes, what transmission do you have?

MT82 no good auto maybe.. not worth the time to swap to stock axles imo. When they break it will cost you that much in tow bill and replacing them again

If you're not launching it at the strip you'll be fine with the stock 5.0 halfshafts.

The only real response/question is what tires are you on? Stock street tires? Save your money on any halfshafts. Wide drag radials or something? Save your money on the GT350 shafts, and get real halfshafts.

Whipple stage 2 reference is irrelevant. You could have 1,000 horsepower, but unless you have the traction halfshafts are not a concern.

what if i launch it accidentally on the street?
Then you should sell the car and drive a Prius.

You will not get enough traction on the street even WITH drag radials to do anything to the half shafts.

I would argue that (not the Prius part.. :) ). It's not hooking on the street you have to worry about. Its wheel hop. Spend some money on suspension components to eliminate wheel hop possibilities and you should be good. If you go to track I would upgrade halfshafts..not the GT350 ones.

LoL, fair enough. I haven't experienced any wheel hop in my 16 at all. My 03 wheel hopped so hard that it did break a half-shaft bearing (on level 5 half-shafts). I also came to find out at that point that the pinion angle was off by a large margin and that the idiot who installed the gears put a standard bolt in a metric hole so that was most likely the problem there.

Thanks, so far ive done vertical links, Bushings inserts, and the BMR lockout kit. ive noticed a lot less wheel hop already, but the question is how much reduction do i need

Again if you don't drive like a teenager at a stoplight in 1st you will be fine. I romped on mine constantly in 2nd and 3rd and never had a hiccup on the factory axles. Would've kept me them if I wasn't tracking it.

On slicks it can certainly be done. Did it on my old Cobra for 50 passes with no problems. Sidewalls take a lot of the shock.
