Doubtful. The gauges are changed by different mods (normal, sport and track). It seems like to me there would be more required than just plugging it into the dash. If it can be done it will probably require a bit of work. Like harnesses, control boxes, etc.
That's what we thought when trying to get MyColor and line lock on the present base models. A premium cluster clipped right in and you had MyColor and line lock became available on the menu. Whether linelock worked or not, I don't recall seeing, but MyColor did and there weren't any control modules needed. I imagine the new cluster will need inputs from whatever its meant to read, and if that device isn't there to provide it data, it would just read 0.

This was just a thought for anyone that may like the new digital cluster. I'd imagine Ford changed something that would require a little modification to get it working (like they did for the 2010-2012 vs. 2013-2014 taillights. Though they looked the same, they weren't interchangeable). But I'm sure someone will find out at some point whether a swap can be done.

GT vs Ecoboost. Ecoboost has a 6500 redline, GT looks to be ~7400.
True. I was comparing the temp, odometer and miles to empty to see if it was the same model in the picture. Now that I see the odometer's reading is intentional, it's likely fixed values for the pictures and doesn't mean it's the same model.

So the DI + PI (confirmed on website), along with a higher redline, should yield some nice gains :)

GT Performance Pack comes with the brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (the successor to the Pilot Super Sport)!

If the 18 GT gets the gt350 IM/TB (which it needs to make 7400rpm redline benificial), that would be the equivalent of the PP3 kit that adds 37hp. Add to it that this car is DI/PI and 12:1 compression ratio instead of 11:1 and it could easily be good for another 5% and that puts us at 496 hp and an engine with a nice wide power band mated to a 10sp auto. Ford probably won't do that becuase it's knocking on gt350 power but if it gets that hardware and that redline, that hp is only a quick tune away.

Camaro went 455 to beat out the 15-17 by 20hp. I'm betting ford answers back with 475 and an aftermarket tune will get a stock car to 490 to 500 at the crank. If they do that, I'll probably trade and start saving for a new front end.

If ford doesn't bump the hp that much, it will either be detuned alot or i bet it be a dyno surprise.

No way the car is getting 475 unless they have big plans for the 2020. It's a refresh. It will see around 15-25hp at most I bet. Just because DI/PI doesn't mean they are going to pull out all the power from it. They will trickle it because it most likely will be the same engine in the 2020.

Like I said, if the hardware is there, the hp is just a tune away.... Ford might not give it to us but if I can spend 10 minutes with a tuner and get it, that works for me.

Purely speculation but if it gets the pp3 hardware to utilize the 7400rpm redline along with DI/PI 12:1 and only gets a 15 to 25hp bump, it will be detuned and a revised tune will unleash the ponies.

It looks like there is a continuation of the grille pattern within this little vent, but it appears to be closed. Perhaps it'll be opened up for brake cooling on the PP cars, or some future performance variant. Was looking at the PP photos, but couldn't tell from any of those.

The PP3 kit which consists of two off the shelf parts that ford has at their disposal along with a tune puts the current S550 at 472. 475 is not a crazy number for Ford to offer in the 18my in a GTPP. Anything less and the car will probably still be slower than the 6th gen camaro. They don't have a lot of time before CAFE standards kill off the HP wars. Might as well win while they can. The S650 will be the hybrid mustang II neutered by emissions.
