If I was buying today, it would be a 1LE Camaro.

Remember the LT1 is a newer engine than the Coyote. It doesn't have as much development time from the aftermarket.
It's been out 4 years, only 2 years newer than the coyote. It's had enough time.

I would agree about the 1LE if he was focused on track ability, but with boosting it it doesn't seem like that's the top priority, and the coyote loves boost compared to the LT1.

Leaving it stock = Camaro
Modding and adding boost = Mustang

Op you already have a Camaro, you dont need his/hers license plates. You already have an F-150. The stock to stock comparison doesn't matter because everyone and their mothers mods their cars for more power. Get the mustang gt but get the automatic...you already have a stick car, when you supercharge it you will go faster then the manual. When dd you need visability. The mustang will be easier to live with in the long run...
This was my line of thinking for the most part. not really the his/hers part, but getting the auto since it is cheaper to make power, (no clutch upgrade, shifter, easier on drive line etc.), ease of daily driving and comfort.

The Camaro is great car, if you could see out of it, it would be livable as a DD.

It's funny we keep hearing this, yet his wife owns one and loves it.

Ive owned tons of cars. But on this subject i had a 2015 gt auto and did full bolt ons. Wasn't too impressed. Traded it for a 2017ss m6. Really dont like this car. Its fast, stops, turns but just is sooooo small its ridiculous. Plus costs a fortune to mod compared to a mustang. I would seriously rent one first.

It takes some getting used to. I would never consider a 1ss because it doesn't come with blind spot monitoring like the 2ss does.

having to get the 2ss for blind spot monitor drives up costs. Starting price for 2SS in my neighborhood is 42-43. If you want a 2SS that's fine but the Camaro should come with blind spot monitor on the base model.

What is your F150 ? If you have the 5.0 you could supercharge that.

We just got my wife's 2016 2ss in November for $36.5k. Get really good deals at the end of year. It should come on the base models I agree. The truck is a 2013, but if I wanted something with that much hp and that much weight I would be looking into dodge

2SS for $36.5 is a deal. Can you get anything close to that today? Around here the 2SS on the dealership lots are priced like Challenger 392, optioned well above 40. Challenger is another car that needs blind spot detection. It's 4-5 o'clock blind spot is bad.

Msrp was 46. But the year end 20% off of msrp deal and the fact that we had a gt premium lined up for 36k made them drop their price quick.

That you're loyal to a brand - as are most.

But looking at it objectively, at this current time, the Camaro is the better choice if you're looking for performance.
I'm not a ford guy. We all know the camaro is faster yet here we are with mustangs, so the camaro might win the power to weight ratio battle but it lost as a whole. I drove the camaro, mustang and scat pack challenger and for me the mustang won the overall. The mustang was also he cheapest. Guys are spending 2-3k on mods and getting nearly 450whp. That's still less than the camaro and now the mustang has more power.

Once you start throwing mods into the picture it's a different story. That's why I said 'stock vs stock'.

At any rate, all the major auto mags agree, the new Camaro is a fantastic performer.

The only thing I like about the Camaro's is the handling. A significant thing, no doubt, but I don't know if that would warrant the price.
