I was always a GM guy, Pontiac to be more precise. (see avatar) I rented a Camaro SS when I was out of town and it didn't do anything for me. It was fun and fast, but didn't leave a lasting impression. Next time I rented a Mustang Ecoboost Premium. (GT wasn't available for rent) I wasn't thrilled about the Ecoboost but drivetrain aside, it's the same as the GT Premium. I never saw myself in a Mustang but within a day of having that car I was in love. It just felt wrong as I was always against Mustangs being a GM guy and wanting to have a car that wasn't a dime a dozen. That car changed my mind and I've been on this forum since waiting for the day I buy mine.
If you haven't yet, go drive both and see what you think. Persoanlly the Mustang just feels right to me. I think it's a better looking car, much better visibility, and the interior is nice and comfortable. It's all personal taste but to me the interior in the new Camaro is meh and I don't care for the exterior either.
Can't tell you which way to go but this is my experience. This long time GM guy will be buying a GT Premium with the performance package this spring. It'll be parked in the garage right beside my '67 GTO.
