I haven't needed a CD or DVD (or bluray) in years. I also build my own computers, and I never include a disk drive anymore. All software is downloaded nowadays. Even hardware that comes with a disk... you're better off downloading the updated software online.5 computers without an optical drive? To me, that is ludicrous, so you DL all of your new SW? Who makes desktops without an optical, or maybe you only use laptops or tablets?
Not trying to HJ the thread, I'm just lost with this concept of no CD/DVD drive. Now I also ordered the manual from my dealer on the DVD(?) media, and was not the happiest when they told me at that time, that print form was not offered, because I want a book that I can open to a page, not a CD/DVD that I can read or print from.
Last 3 laptops, no CD/DVD drives. Last 2 Desktops, no CD/DVD drives.5 computers without an optical drive? To me, that is ludicrous, so you DL all of your new SW? Who makes desktops without an optical, or maybe you only use laptops or tablets?

I'd like to see it, see how technical it goes. Once Ford fixes their website you can buy a $21.95 subscription for 72 hours and download the entire thing to a stick...one piece at a time. My case is still open as of Friday. It shouldn't be this difficult :ford:factory-manuals.com
Heh, I also have a NUC in my garage. It's a little older than yours. I think it might even have an Atom processor in it. But it does the trick for browsing or pulling files from my network storage. It also plays my tunes for me.Last 3 laptops, no CD/DVD drives. Last 2 Desktops, no CD/DVD drives.
I really shouldn't admit this, considering I work for the "Worlds Largest Chip Maker", but the old standard DeskTop PC is DEAD!!
The standard Desktop CD/DVD drive by its self is 5" x 7 1/2".
The Desktop PC's I use are extremely powerful and are only 4"x 4". So small that I have one attached to the back side of my VESA standard mount 24" Monitor. I've become a minimalist without having to go tablet. ;)
My current setup:

Please excuse the messy wires!! That little square thing is a Intel i5 Powered NUC. It has 16GB of memory, a small 160GB SSD hard drive, and browsers full of GT350 goodness!! ;)

p.s. These little guys are still bigger than the current USB driven PC's available these days.
With this setup... I need online manuals!! or I guess I could buy a $15 external USB CD/DVD drive. But then it screws up my minimalist aspirations.![]()
I wonder if this could be a group purchase and share the manual on the forum.
HMMMMMM?

Probably this is an issue with your computer rather than the CD rom. Possibly a driver conflict. Download and install the viewers directly from the web. Don't try to load them off the CD . That may helpI bought the Helm CD and tried to install it on my Windows 10 laptop.
It installs, bitches that Acrobat 5.0 and SVG Viewer 3.0 is not installed.
If you say go ahead and install, it just proceeds doing nothing.
And then, it will launch, give you a menu, but you're very lucky if you can view anything. Clicking on a wiring diagram does a Please wait, loading and it will sit there all night doing that. i know, I tried it.
I'm going to ask for my money back.
FWIW,
Kirby
I solved the issue by dragging out an old laptop with Windows XP on it.Probably this is an issue with your computer rather than the CD rom. Possibly a driver conflict. Download and install the viewers directly from the web. Don't try to load them off the CD . That may help
....buy compression tester gaugesoooo i would find how to compression test my coyote in there then?
Don't you also need the throttle body open when cranking? Or does it default open when cranking since it is DBW?....buy compression tester gauge
remove spark plugs
connect compression gauge to cylinder 1
crank engine until gauge no longer moves
repeat for all other cylinders....
If one or more pistons show much lower compression that the others, put a teaspoon of oil in it. retest . If compression increases/recovers, its your rings. If it does not, it is valves.
