The first 5 pages are about the edp kit having an issue then it turns into shit with no real results. They were seeing 15 psi at the turbo outlet and 8 psi in the manifold. Thats a massive boost leak. The shop just didn't spend enough time finding it and correcting it. Instead blamed the intercooler, valve float, Ect. then when that didn't fix it the customer gave up on it. More reason why doing things yourself is some times the better route.

good on you for doing it yourself. a Precision 7675 Gen2 (.96 A/R) would be fine with the 5.0 would boost up quite nicely and back pressure won't be considerably high as you aren't stressing the turbo too much. i'd look into Forced Inductions range of turbo's as well, they do some really nice Borg Warner based turbo's with billet wheels (very well priced but they are a little lazier than the Precision)

Until you push it and it chokes.

at the level he is going for, you won't see much over a 1-1.2:1 back pressure. starting pushing the turbo then yes, i would look into going a bigger T4 1.25 housing or jumping to a 7685

Whats the difference between the 7675 and the 7675 gen 2 ? Website shows a 100 hp difference but twice the price ? Same billet wheel and ex turbine. All I see different is journal and ball bearing. Im looking at the journal bearing turbo ......... Cheaper and I don't think a 100hp capability because of faster spool times on a ball bearing.

Full race recommended a Borg warner s476sxe with 1.10 a/r housing
I will most likely go with this or similar in precision '7685' this is why i like feedback to help me make a good decision. i knew the 7675 was a tad small on the big end but eventually would choke out. 7685 or the s476 makes sense for room to grow just a little lag.

the Gen2 stuff spools up a little quicker/makes a tiny bit more power, in saying that, it's not a huge difference.

the 7685 vs 7675 is not much of a lag difference, especially fom an 11:1CR DOHC V8, i would be looking at the bigger option especially if you decide on pushing the turbo at a later stage.

so I guess my deciding factor is the precision or borg warner ? I have owned precision in the past and had great success. but I have heard excellent things about borg warner.

i like the Forced Inductions stuff as much as the Precision. thing i like about Precision is they do spool up a little faster. in saying that we did have a FI BW S480 on a 2JZ (3L) running 8.0@174 we saw 36psi @ 5500rpm.

i don't think you can go wrong either way, only advice can give, if you do tend to push it, sway to the larger exhaust wheel/housing
