So some great guy decided that he would come along and steal the tire caps off my gt. So when I saw that first I thought, wow really? But then I had two genuine concerns.

First, is the tpms in the screw on cap or in the tire itself?

Secondly, why isn't it leaking air? I haven't had them on for days and I've driven it but no air comes out? Is it some magical thing?

Actually a third question, wtf steals oem caps and that's it?

Not sure if serious, but no, the TPS module is connected to the valvestem within the tire. The caps don't prevent air from escaping, they are there to protect the valve itself and from debris. You need to press the metal pin itself the release the pressure.

Sensor is inside the tire.
The stem has a spring loaded seal to keep air in.

Hahahaha it's so funny because I made this post while I was on the bus.

Sadly it was a serious question. This gt is the first I've ever purchased myself and have tried to take care of. I'm also the only person in small family who cares about cars. Needless to say most of what I've learned has been from various Internet sources.

Anyway thanks for the help guys
